The crack of dawn.
That was when Aden woke up to train himself mentally and a little physically before this meeting today. He would need to seem as relaxed and healed as he was, but his personality was uptight and always stressed when in such a position. He owed a lot to Lady Bassette though because her words had been quite a help in the ability to plan this. "One...two...three." He muttered as he closed his eyes and dropped his weapons so that he could move in slow, solid motions to focus himself.
Of course he lost track of time and instead of ten minutes he spent balancing on his right foot he spent two hours doing so. He opened his eyes to see the sun a whole lot higher and he smirked. He had nearly mastered the ability to remove yourself from consiousness. Of course when used for pain it left you with a horrible headache and a boat load of confusion when you came back into a consious state. This he knew because he had learned so while away.
Aden picked up his weapons as he slowly made his way into a fighting stance. He moved his body through attacks and dodges at full pace. He would jump backwards and land with two hands on the sand before launching himself forward at the unseen target. He had already broken a sweat and the scar seemed more painful when sweaty. Aden paid no attention to it though as he moved through different combinations.
He was forcing his body past the limit it had been at when he had left. Now he could and would go farther. Also, this was to be his last day of training before this attack. He didn't want to have himself be so tired for this fight that he lost his life along with the Cruor sword. He doubted they would find the Cruor Sword though and if he died, well, they would have an even less chance of finding it. He had placed it in a spot no one would look in.
He smirked as he laid his weapons to rest again and bent down to pick up the water he had brought. Since he had only been doing very active things for only a few hours he wasn't dehydrated, but he didn't want to take the risk. He took a large sip before glancing up at the sun. It was about nine in the morning. Perfect timing.
Aden walked to his small bundle on the ground and grabbed it. He tugged his black shirt over his heart and took another drink of water before continuing into town. He needed to be there before others. He stepped into the middle of town where this meeting was to take place and he stood in the shadows to let his body cool down.
From the heat, the workout and the lack of water his normally pale skin was a little red with sun burn. It would fade soon though as he cooled down. He waited for the rest of the people who knew about this meeting to appear. After all, he didn't want to be waiting in the sun for hours on end. He would get dehydrated and that wouldn't do any one any good. Well, maybe Osiris, but he didn't need help so far.
Slowly people started to appear and Aden smiled. It would be soon that he started.

She moved through the sun, blazing down on her face, her body... Herself. She didn't like it. Not at all. She was used to the shade all over her body, that she could lurk within as she followed her pray, like an animal. Quick, yet silent. She moved through the hot sand, her boots to high and tight to let any sand within them to rub against her sore feet.
She wasn't used to the sun. Tallan liked shadows, quietness... Everything, but where she thought she would end up. She didn't want to be here too much. However, she was, so she decided to make the best out of it all.
She moved, a cloth over her eyes. She always wore a cloth over her eyes. Almost always... She wanted to be in with nature. She didn't need her eyes, she had her feet, her mind. Each step made an image flash through her mind. The ground beneath her feet lead her closer to her destination. She came across a long stretch of more sand and nothingness. In her mind.
She looked into the shadows at a pare of gleaming eyes. She slowly moved herself closer and closer to him, stopping just feet away. She stood there watching him. She took in a slow, long slurred breath.
"... Aden..." She said softly. "What am I here for?" She asked looking at the ground, she moved the cloth from her eyes and put it in the top of her short black like dress, it becoming unseen. She moved backwards a little and watched at where he was.
"Is it about the war?" She asked slowly. She watched him still, just standing there and watching. Each second inched by as if hours. She pressed her fingers to his lips, and began to run them along the smooth surface.

Aden watched his newest spy/assassin appear. Tallan. She was gifted from what he remembered of their first meeting, but he wasn't in need of her at this meeting. He smiled as he stepped from the shadows and looked at her, "Well, you are here just so I can give you the job. You know fo the Legendary Swords and how I have one, Osiris has one, Laties is going after one and some Traveler has one. Well, I want you to go find the sword in the hands of the traveler and bring it back here in no less then two weeks."
He ruffled his hair and twirled his bangs around his finger, "There is a battle to take place and I don't know how long it'll last. That's why I want you to take your time on this. I don't want you to come back in the middle of the fight and turn the sword over. We don't need Osiris having at least two swords against us." He said sighing softly.
"Now off." He said stepping into the shadows again. He felt like he was close to being on fire now. "I wish you luck." He said softly as he waited for other Order members to appear.

She listened to Adam as he spoke to her. It was odd to be getting orders from someone else. She was used to giving them, not receiving them. She looked at the ground, then put the cloth over her eyes. She bowed her head low, her hair gentle scraping against the ground. She then turned around and began to run off, her gentle feet hitting the ground and rushing off again.
She continued to rush through the hot sand. She didn't know where she was going, or how she was to get this sword. She wasn't so great at taking her time, she was brought up to do her jobs quickly and fast, then to move away quickly from where she did it.
Tallan wasn't going to fail him though, she wasn't sure about who would be after the sword with her. So she would be hoping for the best, yet expecting the worse... Althought she knew hoping did nothing for you but get you ready for what was coming, making you confident.
She wasn't.

X•A•X•U•S
Time passed ever so slowly when you were immortal. This was a fact that Xaxus knew well. When he'd been mortal, he always had things to keep him occupied. When you had things to do, time passed by quicker, as if to mock you, to worry you. Now, it wasn't a lack of time that worried Xax, but what happened if the other side had too much of it. And what he needed was something to do. That way time would speed itself up, hopefully for himself and the enemy.
There was a fight coming, Xax knew that. He'd heard whispers of the king's forces moving in on the Order. However, until now, he'd gotten no word from the Order as to what preparations were being made. The leader of the operation, a man named Aden as Xax understood it, had requested that members come for instructions. Xax wasn't one for authority, but this authority was the only one who had the power to move things along. Any progress was good progress, he assumed.
Time was passing by slowly again as Xax waited beside a building, letting the cool shadows cover his body as he watched this Aden interact with other members. He didn't know very many of his comrades, nor did he feel that it was necessary to, and so decided to wait until their leader was alone to approach. Besides, he hated daylight. It was much easier to get things done at night. There were significantly less mortals around to get in your way.
Xax wasn't sure what this one had in mind for him, or if there was even any plan to be set in motion. What he did know was that he wasn't much of a fighter. He had magic, yes, and if the mortal wanted him to use it to their advantage, then he would be obliged to do so... from a distance. But truthfully, he was much better at solo missions than combat. It just wasn't in a Syph's nature. They worked through deceit and trickery, not blunt force.
Several minutes after the purple-haired one walked away, Xax steeled himself for a potentially dangerous meeting and stepped out into the sunlight, squinting as the ultra violet rays pierced his pale blue eyes. Oh yes, he did hate sunlight. Stopping just short of the mortal, Xax gave an almost inperceptible bow of his head, tipping his horns downward.
"I am Xaxus Merwhyn Sorr, here for what orders you may have. I offer my full services," he announced, his voice deep and dull, but conveying a small amount of respect. He stared up at the mortal, awaiting his response. The quicker this meeting, the better. Time could speed up again any minute now.

Almost just as mysteriously as Xaxus had appeared, Azazeal followed. Stepping out from under a collection of broad leafed branches, Azazeal slowly made his way towards the General. Even though the Order was run by the fair leader Aden, Bassette had always liked to make sure things ran smoothly and information was brought to the attention of those who needed it. Bassette truly trusted Aden as he did her. Which is why she had felt obligated to come to this meeting. But for Bassette, any means of movement was quite impossible. Without the ability to walk, Bassette was extremely limited to where she could go. So is that why she sent her retainer? Well, for anyone to know Azazeal, they would know he would never leave her side for anything, even for a meeting. So why was the fair skinned, ram horned boy here?
His long white hair fell about his face as he stepped out into the hot desert sun, his heavy blue cloak wrapped around his small frame. His long ears were lowered as an attempt to keep them from getting sunburned. Upon his curled horns was also a most peculiar sight. A bright blue butterfly perched upon his right horn, relaxing lazily in the sun. The blue butterfly was a mystery in itself, but why it had chosen to sit itself upon Azazeal was even more perplexing. The quiet bow stepped into the slowly growing crowd, his eyes trained on only one person: Aden. But he couldn't help draw his eyes to Xaxus. They held no emotion against the creature maybe except for a hint of curiosity. After all, they shared a sort of similarity.
Looking back at Aden, Azazeal introduced himself by clearing his throat. "I'm here for Lady Bassette. She was not feeling well enough to be moved this morning," Azazeal said. But as he knew and Aden knew, Bassette was actually there with them. While Azazeal wasn't lying totally, Bassette was indeed feeling ill. But in the form of a blue butterfly, she was still present for the meeting.

“I apologize for my tardiness, I was lucky enough to cross the desert in a day,” A rider hidden in a loose cloak said in a low voice as they quickly dismounted off the pinto horse and gently patted its neck. Leaning forward slightly, the rider murmured softly, “Go to the stables and rest.” The animal turned its head softly and nipped at her side before walking over towards the horned boy and bumped heads lightly before trotting towards the stable.
Gloved hands pulled the hood back slightly to let it fall to reveal the commanding officer of the order, covered in a light layer of sand. Hazel eyes turned to look at the prophet’s ‘caretaker’ and bowed politely before turning to look over at Aden and nodded at him in acknowledgement. “Aden,” she said as she crossed her arms in front of her chest and leaned against the trunk of a tree.

Aden had known that he wasn't alone for a little bit before Xaxus stepped in front of him. A soft, but nearly meaningless smile graced his lips as he bowed his head, "Thank you for coming on such short notice Xaxus. I'll need to speak to you when most people come." He said letting the smile fade from his face and be replaced with the aura of determination and a facial look of thoughtfulness. He nodded at Azazeal once he appeared as his eyes drifted to the butterfly.
"I understand. Please give her my regards after this meeting." He said directing it at both Azazeal and the butterfly. He only needed his commanding officer to come before he could continue. He ran over his plans in his head. He needed a group of another person - preferably a quick traveler - to come with him to meet Laties after this fight, but he also needed to talk about this upcoming battle and the plans he had for it.
He had thought this all over with careful planning while his training earlier and he could see no other way to do it without going against his morals. He turned to see a rider coming into the village, "No worries at all Inque. We're all lucky if we can cross it in two days." He said kindly as he stepped from the area near the shadows he was in as he looked between his fighters and also between Azazeal and Inque.
"Well, I'm guessing by now we all know that there is to be a battle here in no more then three days. I'm sorry for disappearing and reappearing at such a crucial moment, but we all know I was under more stress then any mortal could handle. I've learned a few new things though that should help us." He paused to see if Dulcimer was here, but he didn't see him. He didn't worry too much because that spy seemed like he could take care of himself quite easily.
Aden could only hope that he hadn't been caught and if he had that he wouldn't break. "Thanks to Lady Bassette I've learned that they'll be attacking from East and West. This possessed knight of Osiris's will come from East leading other knights. The new General will come from the West and that is where I plan to be. I want those who can combat both archers and weaponed knights to stay towards the East while the rest are by the West." He paused again to keep himself from going too fast.
He looked over the other people and said, "I am not sure if Osiris knows we know of this fight, but I doubt it or he would have attacked already. What I want to do is until the first sign of danger for life to go on, but wives who cannot fight, elderly, and of course the children are to be hidden in the Amblethorn Temple. There is a hidden spot there and once again thanks to Lady Bassette I can actually hope he won't go there." Aden looked from his commander to a private to Azazeal and then back to others who had started to appear.
"Any questions?" He asked in finally. He was sure there would be some if not a lot. "Oh yea, I do want you to decide where you'll best be suited because I don't know you to your limits and only you can decide where to be." He said looking to Xaxus to answer his earlier question.

X•A•X•U•S
War was a messy business. Often disappointing, too. So much meticulous planning, so much hope for the preferred outcome. And what of it? Innocents killed, cities destroyed, lives in ruins. Noble men and women dead for a cause that may have been settled over dinner and wine. Bloodshed, and soiled ground, sanctified places vandalized. It seemed unecessary and worthless. But it would never end.
As Xaxus waited in the blazing sun, letting his eyes sweep across the assembled parties, listening to the confident general make his speech, he wondered how many of these people would die for their cause. Would their best warriors fall? Would the women be captured, raped, tortured? Would the safehouse be stormed, would the children be killed? These were very real possibilities, and Xax would be there to witness it all. Soulless or not, he knew from experience that a wasted life was never a good one.
The general seemed to overestimate Osirus' cruelty. He believed that if the king knew of their information, he would have attacked already. Xax thought differently. It was likely that the king knew exactly what he needed to. He was just biding his time. Arrogant as he was, Osirus was not stupid. He had eyes and ears everywhere. The Syph would have preferred to be gone by the time he set his plan in motion. There would be bloodshed in this place, and he would be no help in stopping it. His aid would come in the form of something else.
When the mortal Aden finished speaking, he directed his last thought towards Xaxus, resting his eyes on the Syph. Xax said nothing at first, giving any others the chance to have their peace first. When nothing was forthcoming, he spoke.
"It is not for me to decide where my talents will be put to use," he started, "but a hundred and fifty years of experience have taught me that I am no use in battle. I have magics, if you believe they would be helpful to you. I also have the means of fast, efficient travel. If you need something taken care of elsewhere, I will see that it is done. I am yours to command."
Whatever this mortal decided that he should do, he would do it. Defying the Order would not help his cause. He wanted Osirus gone as much as the next person. Still, he believed that this Aden would use him wisely. Any good general knows to play to his troops' strengths. Xax had become one of a million; another soldier in another army; another pawn in another useless war. Hoo rah.

"Oh God, have pity on a foolish soul..." Dulcimer coughed violently as a torrent of blood spilled both from his mouth and his side wound. As poisons went, this one had to have been the worst he had experienced in a long time. His escape from the castle had been a lucky one, but he was not sure his fate had been. From the window, he had luckily fallen into the lone surviving collection of bushes. Luckily for him, they had broken his fall. Unfortunately for them, they would soon die from snapped stems. From there, he had managed to find a secure escape from the bed of glass he had created and ran into town. Being a spy, he easily knew the town. But this poison made it much more difficult to find his way about. Stumbling like a drunken fool, a single man had thought the very same and lucky pointed him in the direction of an Inn.
Since he wasn't drunk, an Inn would do him no good. But the horses that they stabled would do quite well for him. Stealing horses was quite easy when the stable boy was fast sleep. Taking a gray mare, Dulcimer pointed it in the direction of the desert and set his life in the hands of fate. If the horse stayed en route, they would make it by morning. If they got attacked or he fell off, Dulcimer would easily be doomed to death. But the mare was not attacked and lead by the great goddess Lumen, Dulcimer broke out of a feverish delusion just in time to see that the horse would carry him right into Amblethorn. He was far too dazed to even care that the guards stopped him as he continuously muttered one name:
"A-Aden..."
A young soldier quickly took the reigns and lead the horse towards the appointed Order meeting.
As Aden addressed Xaxus, Azazeal gasped as the butterfly on his horns suddenly slipped from its perch and landed in Azazeal's expecting hands. He looked at it with worry as his lips moved in a panicked motion, speaking to the butterfly with words unheard to anyone. Then he paused and looked up. Just as his icy eyes looked up, the young soldier brought a gray mare forward. On top of its back was Dulcimer, strewn over the horses body as a large trail of red seeped down the shaggy coat of the horse. The red glistened in the sunlight, leaving a trail as it walked in. Dulcimer's face was hidden by his long hair which had fallen free of its previous capture.
"Dulcimer!" Azazeal whispered in shock.

Aden looked to Xaxus and nodded, "I shall think of it. I believe the best position for you then would be at the temple with a few other guards. Since you can travel quite fast I'll need you to alert us when..." He trailed off as something felt off suddenly. He sighed softly and played with his bangs, a habit he had developed quite quickly. "When trouble comes near to the temple so that we can fall back there." He said finishing his thoughts as he turned to Azazeal. "Yes?" He asked turning when his name was spoken and there he saw the source of his feeling.
"Dulcimer!" He said moving over to him quickly, but without seeming panicked. "What happened?" He asked noticing the blood, "Get some water." He said to the soldier that had led him here. "Dulcimer, are you consious?" He asked with worry lacing his voice. He could only imagine what had happened to make Dulcimer get in such a bad condition.
"Azazeal...What can we do?" He asked as he kept a hand on the mare's neck to keep her calm. He knew horses could sense when people were panicking and he didn't need her trying to run off and end up throwing Dulcimer from her back. From what he could tell Dulcimer was cut in the side, but he had a feeling that poison was also playing a factor in this. He calmed himself and turned to the rest of the Order members.
"I have to cut this meeting short, but I will be able to answer any questions that you have." There was a reserved tone in his voice again. It was the same tone he adapted when he was worried things were about to get ten times worse then they already were. Aden's hand was still on the mare's neck, but it was obvious that the mare wasn't calm any more. Aden could only thank his Elvin herritage for the ability to keep animals calm enough that they wouldn't freak out. He had never been one for animals, but that was a different story.
He looked at Azazeal again. To Aden this was the beginning of the battle. He was just glad that Dulcimer had gotten away.

"A-Aden...Aden...Osirus..." Dulcimer opened his eyes and lifted his head slightly to look at Aden. Dulcimer was still dressed in Adrian's clothes and this meant a lack of armor on his body. If Aden put two and two together, Dulcimer would be noted for not having worn armor when entering Du Aurella, like he should have. But the information he carried in his clouded head was far too important than any details that would get him in trouble. He pushed himself up as far as he could with his weak arms, blood caked around his mouth. The poison had progressed in an aggressive manner. It was quickly beginning to turn his insides liquid. His bright blue eyes were blood shot and surrounding his eyes were a mask of green. The gash in his side had slowed its bleeding to a trickle, but a constant trickle none the less. The poison in which he had been stabbed with was a anti-coagulant, this preventing his body from healing itself.
"O-Osirus...he's...he's coming soon Aden..." His hand shot forward to his mouth as he suddenly retched blood. Then, he was leaning too far to the right and he slipped right off the horse.
Azazeal frowned and quickly made a pentagon sign with his finger, silver slashes burning themselves in the air before Azazeal. The pentagon shimmered and Dulcimer was saved from falling on the stone below. With one hand pointed at Dulcimer to keep him from falling and the other holding the sickened blue butterfly, he walked forward to Aden and the fallen spy. As he came up to Aden, he winced at the horrible smell of decay Dulcimer was giving off.
"What a wicked poison..." Azazeal muttered as he flicked his hand, turning Dulcimer on his back. He investigated him for a moment, then glanced at Aden.
"We need to bring him to the Prophet's hut. I don't know if we can save him now, but I can try..." Azazeal said, his voice even.
"W-wait...Aden..." Dulcimer opened his eyes and reached out to Aden, grabbing his arm. He took a shallow breath.
"O-Osirus...is planning to attack...tomorrow! He...he changed his agenda...he slauhgtered all of those who opposed him...but he's advancing tomorrow to surprise us..." Dulcimer choked out. Azazeal blinked and looked at Aden.

"I'm right here Dulcimer." He assured the spy as he looked him over. He did note the lack of armor, but that was a question that needed to be saved for later. First Dulcimer needed to be saved. "Ok. I'll help any way possible." He knew that for Dulcimer to come rushing here in such a condition that there was important reason for it. He turned to the rest and relaxed himself. This meeting was going to be cut short and he knew it. "Ok, well, this was unexpected, but I need to cut this meeting short." He said looking at every one.
"Dulcimer. Try and stay with us." He said keeping a steady hand on the mare's neck. As soon as Dulcimer had fallen and Aden was sure it was safe to move the horse. He checked to make sure that Dulcimer had no straps keeping him attached to the mare and removed the one that he did have. "Sshhhhhsh." He said soothingly as he moved towards another person in the meeting. It happened to be some random man standing around the back, but Aden was sure he could trust him with this mare.
"Take her to the stables and make sure that she has feed, water and get some one to give her a good wash. Mare's don't like the smell of blood around them." He said giving her neck a good rub before handing her off and turning back to Azazeal and Dulcimer. He turned in time to hear what Dulcimer said, "Tomorrow?! That's not good....Inque! Start getting ready and tell all people who are unable to fight to be ready to move to the temple at a moments notice. Come find me with any questions." He directed as he sighed softly.
"I'll come Azazeal. I'd also like to see Lady Bassette and wish her well." He said playing with his bangs again. A simple, calm meeting had turned into a mad rush to save a valued spy.

With Azazeal's magic, they moved Dulcimer to the prophet's hut. Azazeal whipped his hand about as things in the hut began to move of their own accord, placing themselves in an orderly fashion as Azazeal's own cot moved from the side of the Prophet's bed to another corner of the hut. As they entered the hut, Azazeal glanced back at Aden.
"Best keep your head down," he muttered just as a collection of pots and pans zoomed past Aden's face. Azazeal moved his hand as Dulcimer was laid upon the cot. Then he moved over to the Prophet's bed and gently lay the sullen blue butterfly on the bed. In a moment of magic, the butterfly transformed into a beautiful woman. Her shimmering white hair flew about only for a moment as Bassette's form was revealed. She now sat on her bed, her face alight with worry.
"Oh Dulcimer..." She said sadly. Azazeal looked at her, then began to help her so that she was sitting more comfortably. He moved her so her long legs could stretch, then drew the covers over her long white night gown. She looked at Aden and Azazeal for a moment in worry.
"Oh Aden...I'm so sorry...this is all my fault...I couldn't see this..." She said in woe. She dropped her head shamefully, her hands covering her face. She looked paler than usual and her usual light and glimmer had faded. Azazeal looked at her painfully for a moment, then shook his head as he looked at Aden.
"Her vision is being blocked...she cannot access the Seventh Realm...only another Prophet could be doing this..." Azazeal explained.
"When a Prophet cannot enter the Seventh Realm, they become ill and cannot see what is to come in the future. I have a feeling Camine or Baphomet is doing this..." He said, his voice growing dark upon mentioning their names. Then he shook his head and went to the clay stove as he began preparing hot water. Multitasking was something Azazeal was no stranger to. While preparing hot water, he had a hand behind his back that was beckoning bowls, cups, and other small items to place themselves on the small table next to Dulcimer.
"If you would, Aden, please remove his clothing so that I can have access to the wound," Azazeal muttered.

Aden listened to Azazeal and he kept his head down as pots and pans zoomed around them. "Please, don't be sad Lady Bassette. I understand completely and please don't blame yourselves. I have an idea of what happened." He said looking at the wound as he ruffled his hair as thought things that made him "I believe that it is Camine doing this. From what I've heard he's under the control of King Osiris and Osiris obviously won't want us to know that he's going to attack quite so early." He said thinking logically.
Aden moved closer to Lady Bassette and gently placed a hand on her shoulder, "It's fine Lady Bassette. I don't want you straining yourself." He said kindly. He worried for the Prophet when she pushed herself or blamed herself for the troubles of the other. "Of course Azazeal." He said nodding his head at the orders he had been given.
He moved to Dulcimer and slipped a small knife out he gently cut around the wound as he made sure the clothing was clearly away from it. The rotting scent it made almost caused him to gag, but Aden had disciplined himself not to show such emotions and it was obvious that he had done well. He stared at the stab and said, "Deffinitley done by an assassin. Some one tried to kill him and I'm going to need to figure out why..." He muttered speaking to himself slightly.
Aden removed the rest of the shirt and any clothing that would be of a bother to Azazeal and turned away from the unconsious spy, "Anything else I can help you with?"
