Bassette watched as Aden helped Azazeal to prepare Dulcimer's body for whatever Azazeal was about to do to him. Even so, Aden had comforted her as much as he could, however, Bassette was besides herself with worry and shame. She was a High Prophet, the daughter of Lumen, and the leader of the Prophets. How could she simply have been blocked by one of her own Prophets? Why did she feel so ill? It was not normal in the world of the Prophets. Yes, part of it was because she could no longer see into the Seventh Realm. But she feared there was something more to it. She feared that something bigger was about to happen to toss the world of Prophets into ultimate chaos. And she couldn't see it. She, the Prophet of highest order, the very daughter of Lumen could not see what was about to happen within her world.
These thoughts ripped her heart in two, but she, like the General, was rather good at hiding her feelings from humans. No, Azazeal knew very well what she was feeling, but her retainer knew very well not to reveal her true feelings. As she sat there in her bed, she couldn't help but feel that something horrible was about to happen to make her world crumble.
Azazeal brought the hot water to Dulcimer's bedside as he moved around Aden.
"No, no. You're finished here sir," Azazeal said to Aden. "If you wish, you may leave now. I do believe you've got quite a lot on your plate to deal with," the young retainer said as he sat on his knees. He took the hot water and placed it on the floor as he dropped a large, dark leaf in it.
"Besides, I'm afraid its about to get quite loud and rather dirty in here..." Azazeal said as he looked up at Dulcimer. Taking a small knife from the many objects that had placed itself on the small bedside table, he stood and placed one gentle hand on Dulcimer's naked side. He then began to cut slabs of rotted, poison filled skin away from the wound. Dulcimer's eyes snapped open and cried out in pain. Azazeal frowned, but continued his work until he had fresh, untainted skin around the wound mouth. Dulcimer couldn't contain his cries of pain, but instead, took one of his fists to his mouth and bit into his knuckles to keep from crying. Azazeal then took a small cup and filled it with smaller leaves of a very pungent herb and poured hot water into it. He stirred it for a minute, then helped Dulcimer to drink the foul smelling liquid.
"It'll help to dull the throb of pain. I'm also going to give you something that'll force your body to purge itself of the poison. It will not be a pleasant experience..." Azazeal warned. Dulcimer looked at him for a moment, then nodded.
"D-do it..." Dulcimer then looked at Aden as Azazeal began to prepare the concoction.
"Aden...I'm sorry...I-I wasn't being smart...But I had to go...But Osirus...he is surely coming...His General and Sergeant...they're demons! Truly terrifying..." Dulcimer hissed. The pain was making it hard to speak. He swallowed hard, wincing.
"We've got to make sure...the women...and children...are well hidden.." Dulcimer said, his voice dripping in worry. Azazeal then turned back to him and forced another cup to his lips. This time, the liquid was more like a green paste and it made Dulcimer gag. Azazeal forced him to consume it all, then took another rag and dipped it in the steaming hot water and placed it against the bleeding mess on his side. Dulcimer sucked in air painfully as every muscle in his body tensed.

Draken isn't usually one to settle for just a small sample of blood- he requires the whole thing. For hours now, he had tracked Adrian's trail like a ravenous beast. It lead him this far, into the town he feared most because of all the Order here. Of course, he entered regardless of the risk of death- or worse. His black wings and attire didn't give much stealth at this time of day, nor did it help in the relentless desert heat. Only a few drops of poison remained in the vial. Not enough to kill, but should incapacitate its victim at least.
Avoiding crowds or any individual, Draken hopefully made it to the back of this Prophet's hut without being noticed. He knew not of the Prophet inside, he could only smell the blood of the previous victim and hear voices and later, his cries of pain. With three powerful wingbeats, he landed gently on top of the abode and his claws latched onto the shingles with his wings sligtly parted to keep perfect balance. From inside, It would only sound like a vulture or some sort of larger desert bird perched. Draken pressed his ear against the roof, his keen hearing able to pick up the slightest sounds. 'Damn, the information must have leaked out about the attack...' He struggled to hold back punching the shingles in rage, but simply stopped listening. As long as he was outnumbered, no matter how frustrated he got, all he could do was wait patiently from his location for them to exit the hut or go to sleep

Aden nodded at Lady Bassette and Azazeal, "Of course." He didn't leave though, some feeling was preventing him from doing so. It was the same feeling of dread he had gotten when he had seen Dulcimer riding into town in such a horrid condition, "I'll stay around Azazeal....I have a bad feeling about today..." He said listening to the cries of pain coming from Dulcimer. He looked at the skin that was carved away, but there was no disgust in his face, only calmness, the same calmness that had made it so easy to become leader in hard times.
He looked at Dulcimer as he spoke, his Elvin ears picking up the beginning of his voice in time for Aden to turn. "It's ok Dulcimer. I hope I'll understand what happened after this fight, but I thank you for the knowledge." He walked to the door quickly and opening it he saw a solider and said, "Go tell Inque to get the woman and children to the hiding spot I said. Keep strong guards posted there 24/7." He commanded before returning inside. When he had been outside the feeling had been intensified.
"Dulcimer...I need to know. Was this an assassination attempt or something else?" He asked looking at the man in pain with pity and sorrow in his eyes, "Please, if you can't speak at least nod or shake your head, then I'll let you rest. Was it an assassination attempt?" He asked wanting to know if the sound of a large bird landing he had heard was something to worry about or not. Sensitive ears had picked up the idea of it being an emtremely large volture or something else.
He didn't want to think it was the something else. He closed his eyes and looking at Azazeal his face was filled with a few emotions that he felt the strongest. The obvious being worry and a sense of alertness that most knew meant there was trouble. He hoped it wasn't going to start this soon though.

Dulcimer's face dripped in a pained sweat as Azazeal continued to press the hot, steaming rag against his tender side. But he knew very well that extreme pain would have to be dealt with when dealing with poisons. In fact, he was surprised he had lasted as long as he did. He half expected to simply die and roll of the back of the mare some where in the fields. But by some grace of some random God, he had lived to make it back. Swallowing, he could feel the rancid green concoction Azazeal had forced down his throat beginning to churn his stomach. Perhaps that also contributed to the sweat pouring down his face. His body was certainly preparing to expel what his body had consumed. It would not be a pretty sight and he damned Azazeal for bringing him into the Prophet's hut. Surely he did not want Lady Bassette to see such weakness in him.
Sucking in air between his teeth, he looked at Aden and nodded weakly. "Yes...I believe...it was...I-I think it was because...Osirus wanted total support from his m-merchants...but those who denied him...w-were to be slaughtered...but the assassin came at me...before he gave the command for everyone else..." Dulcimer said, looking away for a moment. Sure, those men weren't the best men in the world, but some of those men who had died had been his father's friends. Father...what news have you received of me? Am I dead to you or am I simply a coward for running? Dulcimer swallowed again, not even hearing the noise above him.
Suddenly Azazeal's flicked and he looked at Dulcimer angrily for a moment. "You mean to say you could've been followed here!? Dulcimer! Assassins don't stop until their target is killed, but you could very well have placed Lady Bassette in danger! You didn't kill your assailant?" Azazeal growled.
Dulcimer looked at him in pain. "I'm sorry Azazeal...b-but...I...it was so confusing...I..." Azazeal growled, standing.
"You panicked! Some spy you are..." Azazeal growled.
"Azazeal! Stop!" Bassette cried. She looked sad, her face streaked with tears.
"Stop fighting! I'd much rather have him come home than to have fought against the assailant and lost!" Azazeal looked at her for a moment, then looked back to Dulcimer's wounds.
"I'm sorry m'lady..."

Aden took everything in, "It's fine Dulcimer. I told you that in a death situation to flee." He said nodding his head he turned to Azazeal and Lady Bassette and said, "Azazeal, don't be angry at him. I'm sure what I told him a day ago or so stuck in his head and he didn't want to do something messed up. You need not worry about Lady Bassette. I would lay my life down on the line if it meant saving another life or two." He said softly looking at his spy with sadness in his eyes. Aden eye's glanced to the roof and he thought for a moment.
It would be smart to go meet this assassin so that Lady Bassette and the injured Dulcimer were not placed in more danger. He pushed his bangs behind his ears and listened for any more movement, "Next noise I hear from this assassin is proof he's here and I'm going to go meet him." He told the others as he slipped the leather straps on his wrists. He pulled the weapons free of their straps and let his arms dangle at his sides with those blades falling by his side.
One of the blades pressed into his arm lightly, but it wasn't going to cut his arm unless jerked. He looked at the injured Dulcimer, the angry or remorseful Azazeal and the crying Lady Bassette, "Please don't cry Lady Bassette." He said with a soft smile to her as he looked up at the roof again, "I knew something was off about today."

Draken crawled closer to the edge of the roof where the entrance was. He gently uncorked the vial and poured the remnants of the poison into his dagger's sheath, then slid the blade back in as noiselessly as possible. He had the patience of an assassin and would wait as long as it took. But for now, he perched like a hawk on the edge of the roof, one hand gripping the shingles on the very edge of the roof and his other tightened around the hilt of the toxious dagger while his eyes darted from the ground below him to the rest of the landscape on the look-out for soldiers or anyone who might give away his attempts.

Aden heard all the movement he needed. He looked at Azazeal and with a small, determined smile across his face he moved over and said in a voice that only Azazeal could hear, "I'm going up there. Keep a watch on Dulcimer because I'm going to still need him and I know he's going to go for his target. I'll be in before he can do any real damage though. I just want you on alert." Aden looked at Dulcimer and then to Lady Bassette. He gave her a full, calm smile as he bowed to her and with the grace, but speed of an elf he was out the door, but not in view just yet.
Aden was skinny enough as an Elf to keep himself pressed against the wall until he could move to the side. All sounds he kept as noiseless as possible. He knew the assassin would probably hear a few because no one should physically be able to move so quietly. Even an Elf could barely do that. Aden turned so he was facing the wall and with a few brief movements he had pulled himself up onto the roof. His footsteps were light as he smirked at the assassin. He had made it in time to see the poison being poured.
"Well, isn't this pleasent. I get to find an assassin going after one of my men. Well, I can only welcome you, but you won't be leaving any time soon." Aden said letting his infamous weapons become visible, "After all, I don't let one person die if I can help it." He said with a determined grin as he watched the other. This assassin would probably be fast, but not as strong as Ausgard. The knight that was now condemned because he lost to Aden and Noah.
Aden pushed Noah from his mind as he waited for the assassin's move. If he went down to finish it Aden would follow and have him at blade's point before he could touch Dulcimer, but if they fought then Aden would have to be careful to avoid such a blade. It would be challenging, but Aden was up to a fight. After all, the Leader of the Order of Lumen wasn't allowed to be a coward who didn't fight the battle alongside his men. No, he fought every second of it and loved it.
It was who he was.

Draken twisted around towards him, nearly throwing the dagger out of instinct until he was reminded it was the only one he brought, along with his shortsword. His amber eyes glared at him, his pupils reduced to mere slits as his anger rose to see an elf before him. He stayed in his crouching position as his wings arched slightly above him.
"I thought I smelled foul blood, elf," he hissed with his glare locked with Aden's. Draken only would only fight because he thought this would all be too easy and needed a challenge to hone his skills. And, of course- to kill for the sake of killing, especially of a race he hated with a passion. His rank in the Order was unknown to him, but he wanted to kill him either way.
Draken's wings beat once just as he lept, which was enough to get him airborne over Aden. The shortsword was drawn in midair, making a wide arc after his head. If it was countered, his dagger would come in after it at an attempted stab to the back.

Aden chuckled, "Foul blood? That must be yourself." He said with a smirk as he stretched. He was just going to draw the other into attacking and as Draken jumped upwards and made a slash before a stab to Aden's back. Aden countered the first with his left hand, the crimson gem catching the light before he flipped out of the way of the second attack. He slipped a small dagger into his palm before he landed on the roof. The right double dagger swung freely from his wrist.
"How about this little offer. We take this fight off the roof because people are ill inside and we'll move into the desert where there is no running." He said picking up on the other's hatred of Elves. He knew the other had not seen his face before and Aden removed the cloak and anything excess as he landed on the ground from an easy flip to the ground.
His blonde hair caught the light and his bangs fell over his shoulders, "I'm guessing what you want is a fight to the death, considering that you don't seem to like Elves." He said with a smirk as he readied himself for any fight.

Draken stood on the edge of the roof, looking down on him. "I hate [i/] elves," he corrected. "And what's wrong with a fight to the death here? It's conveniently closer to my target- and when I kill you I don't have to walk as far. The sooner I kill him, the sooner I can get out of this god-forsaken town with all these damned Order skulking around" He hissed in a venomous tone.
He lept effortlessly from the rooftop, landing lightly on his feet. He readied his sword defensively, uttering in a tone just above a whisper " Your move ."

Between the sounds of Dulcimer puking up the poison and his grunts of pain, plus the sounds of feet above on the roof, Azazeal was becoming very irritated and annoyed. He kept constantly looking up at the roof, then back to Dulcimer as he began to prepare a needle and thread for closing up Dulcimer's wound. Bassette sat in her bed looking and praying helplessly for Aden's victory and safety over the assassin and for the assassin's life to be spared in some sort of manner. With her hands clasped together tightly and her eyes raised to the roof, she prayed hard to Lumen.
"Oh my beloved mother, please find it in your heart to grant these men the serenity of your blessings. Protect your elven son as he wishes only to protect us! Protect your human son as you guide him away from the black hands of death. Protect the man whose heart has been twisted by evil for he only knows of the order he has been given. Oh blessed mother, grant them the serenity of your love, your protection, and your forgiveness." Bassette repeated this prayer over and over again, louder and louder each time.
Azazeal wiped Dulcimer's face with a wet cloth as the spy fell into a pained series of retches. Azazeal closed his eyes tightly as the noise in his ears increased, his skin crawling with the scrapes on the roof. Dropping his hands as he placed the dirtied cloth in a pot of water, he reached up to place his hands over his ears. Then, without warning, he reached into his cloak and suddenly tossed a large dagger up. The dagger sliced right through the ceiling, Azazeal's aim for the assassin's foot.

Aden chuckled as the other gave his speech, "I don't want to fight up there because it's quite dangerous for accidents to happen and I don't want to beat you with the advantage of some sort of accident." He said as the other paused before he listened to the other. He spoke of hating Elves, being closer to his target, and getting out of this town that the Order was in, "Well, here's the problem with that last part. This town is not god-forsaken and you are speaking to the leader of the Order who does not like you insulting his men."
Aden didn't wait for the other's reaction though. He moved effortlessly towards the other and slashed upwards, downwards before across his stomach. Aden was skilled at combining his attacks. He jumped back to make sure that he wasn't in the area of defense. He watched the dagger come out and chuckled before calling out, "A little late there Azazeal." He said getting low and being ready.

" Leader?! "
Draken lept back managing to evade his attacks except the last one, which the end of the blade only frayed the black threads of the rather elaborate outfit he wore to the feast in a clean slice across his chest. "So, you're the one in charge of this hellhole-of-a-town?" He retorted while running towards him, feigning left but then going right delivering another wide-arced slash. He had to kill him now, knowing he was the leader. Several members of the Order knew Draken well, and if he could manage to kill their leader, they wouldn't dare go after him. That would knock of some of his enemies from his list, but he knew he would still be hunted.

"Yes, I'm also the one leading the men who will kill the King." He said jumping up a little and using his blades to block the actual attack. He landed looking at the other and noticed his bangs was cut short, "Wow, you actually hit me." He was thinking of a way to fight him in a shorter way because no matter how much he liked attacking men of Osiris's lead, he would rather be fighting in a way to spare him, even if he wasn't going to be spared. He quickly sliced more off of his bangs so that the poison couldn't hit him while he was fighting. He didn't wait for the other to say he could attack now.
He feigned left, put a kick towards the back of his knee and used a double slash at his chest. He didn't even notice how he had already hit him. He landed backwards in a low condition, ready for any attack. With one quick movements he tied his bangs back so that they wouldn't get in the way.

"Good luck with that," he retorted sarcasticly. Draken managed to jump back from the kick and block both his attacks, but he was already getting fatigued. The nonstop flight here wasn't an easy one, and the scorching desert heat and black clothing didn't help much either. They're going to lose anyway, He reminded himself as he realize he just wanted to get out of this place.
Draken took good note of where Aden stood before his wings beat widly, kicking up a torrent of sand and dust. His poisened dagger came from the cloud towards him. Behind the cloud, however, Draken escaped back to the hut where his previous target was and burst through the door with his shortsword drawn and eyes locked furiously on Dulcimer, ignoring the others.
