To create something, one must give something in return. To create the Swords of Sin, something had to be lost. The precious metals from Mithrillian Mines, the Blood of Shades, but what truly gives these swords their personality? What had to be given to fully create the four swords?
Why is Osirus so focused on getting the remaining four swords? Is it his will or Nocens Atrum? Nocens Atrum is cable of killing his own sister but he is unable to touch her with his own body and like any other he found a way to touch his sister. During the creation of the swords, Nocens Atrum lost a part of himself, he lost a part of his soul. He poured his ability to kill into the Cruor Sword, he poured his cunningness into the Dolus Sword, his hate into the Odium Sword, and his anger into the Saevio Sword.
He turned parts of himself into weapons he could use against his sister.
However, when he was sealed away and the swords cast off into the corners of the Alyssus, he was incomplete. When he finally made himself clear in the young prince’s body, he was still incomplete. Parts of his soul wandered in Alyssus and he was growing ‘weak’ without them. Thus he called out for a search for the swords, his soul, so he could finally become whole once more.
Gurella, the desert community that was the least of Osirus’ worries. In fact, they said that region had no purpose in Alyssus and the nomads who lived there were called desert barbarians. Year after year, the people were constantly ridiculed, degraded, but that was because the people of Alyssus did not see what was brewing underneath the changing sands.
Rumors to the south spoke of a phantom wrecking havoc to those who ventured there. Odd enough, reports of this phantom did not occur until after the Ex-General of Alyssus, a Gurellian, paid a visit to the area.
A parasite of sorts were released into the south, originally created in Gurella by the Elders of each tribe. All having the same goal but not one most would think of. Most would think that they were trying to take over Alyssus, oh no, that was not what they truly wanted. Truth be told, the nomads had no desire to rule over the country. Their only wish was to be recognized.
The parasite had a form, a faint but true form. Rallying the dead spirits, it consumed their souls to make their form more solid. The parasite earned itself a name from all the tricks and deaths it caused, ‘Phantom’. It’s purpose is not to devour all the souls in the south but it too has a goal. It’s goal was the many swords of sin, to consume it. To consume a part of Nocens Atrum, to become a second Nocens Atrum.
