.Name. What’s really in a name? A label given to us by our parents at our births? What if your parents hardly cared what your name was, but simply had to give you something so that they didn’t have to call you by “hey you” or “that one over there”? Well, this boy had a name, but it was more of a simple label than a sincere parental title. This boy’s name was Erosceles Carinth Valhalla. Or otherwise known as the forbidden Prince Eros.
.Nickname. None, except for any given to him by his only sister, Naahra. He has a whole slew of them for everyone else however.
.Age. In physical means, his age is that of 14. But one might think his mental age is that of a lower age simply due to his childish nature and reclusive life style.
.Birthday. December 20th
Race: Human
Allegiance: Although born into the very devil’s house, Eros seems to have no real allediance to his father. After all, his special circumstances don’t exactly allow him to agree with his father’s doings.
Profession/Rank: Prince of Alyssus
.Hair. Much like his mother, he dons silvery white hair that shimmers in the light. Its smooth texture and short cut allow it for easy manipulation. On the left side of his face hangs a long braid held together at the bottom by a golden spear.
.Eyes. Icy blue, just like his mother. Although, unlike his mother Marcelle, is eyes retain a child-like innocence. They’re bright and full of life, which compared to his parents, seem as if they would void death completely.
.Physical Description. In all sense and matter, the Prince Eros looks like a male clone of his mother. Pretty, skinny, and fair like the snow, the young Prince is just as unblemished as his mother, which would make sense concerning his certain circumstances within the family. The only likeliness in which he shares with his sister or his father is the dark eyelashes and fair skin. Prince Eros is clearly his mother’s child in the respects of his dressings and attire. Despite his clear and unlucky situation, the Prince is treated as yet another dressing doll for his mother. Often dressed in white clothes that are often adorned in black or gold.
These clothes are coupled with golden makeup more than often placed around his eyes and painted upon his forehead in an intricate mark. The Prince is hardly allowed to show more than his neck and face value of his skin. He is often dressed in full body attire and forced to wear gloves and boots that do not allow for any speck of skin to be seen. Even the collar of his uniform is tall and heavily gelded in gold. He often appears to be either too young or too mature for his age, depending on the situation in which he is placed. But more than often, a genuine glittering smile is on his face, especially around his sister and his idol, the General Laties.

*Sweets. He shares a royal taste for chocolate, cakes, Danishes, and anything with sugar. He loves to eat sweets and can often indulge himself to the point of nausea.
*Milk. Odd and childlike, who wouldn’t want a large goblet of cold milk after downing a slice of chocolate cake? Well, Eros loves milk to the point where he’d rather drink it instead of water. His most favorite thing to do is after the chamber maids put him to bed, he will sneak out of his room to go down to the kitchens where the head cook will be waiting with a warm cup of cinnamon milk.
*Games. Prior to his father giving Naahra the pendant in which seemed to “suck all her happiness away”, Eros would involve in sister in games ranging from hide and seek between the two of them to games where they would take turns filling the Knights’ boots with worms without trying to get caught. Even now, despite her dullish ways, Eros still tries to involve his sister in childish games.
*His sister. He adores his sister and has a deep relationship with her based on friendship and love. As his sister, she was the only one to truly treat him like a human being aside from the more lowly occupants of the castle. He has many nicknames for her, in which Na-na is the more prevalent one. He will often sneak out of his room at night to sneak into his sister’s room to sleep with her, especially after nightmares in which he is constantly plagued.
*General Laties. Now, its not clear as to when exactly his fascination grew for the General, but it exploded into a full on idol-ship of him. As a master of sneaking and knowing the hidden passages of the castle, he has often found himself watching Laties train and teach young pages from the shrouded garden passage. He’s made contact with him several times after that, often demanding Laties teach him how to fight with a sword.
*The outdoors. Due to his situation, its not often that he gets to see the outdoors. What he knows of the outside world is only known what’s outside of his window and in books. He also revels in tales of Laties’ escapades and his travels. If you let him outside, he would run for hours in the grass as he investigated the flowers and animals around.
.Dislikes.
*Rain. The rain brings a terrible day with it unless Naahra is close by. The rain often means the King and Queen are near by and walking the halls. During these days, he is often forced to stay within his room to be sure that he won’t be caught outside of it. However, the servants and maids of the castle often do a good job of keeping the Prince’s escapes hush-hush.
*Spicy food. Eros cannot stand spicy food. His gentle palate is disgusted even by the smell of spicy food as it often initiates terrible stomach aches. He can often smell spicy food even before it is presented to him. Luckily, his food is often cooked without the spice in which King Osirus loves so much, thus giving the image that he is eating the same food and yet, it is without the spice.
*Lord Nikanoru. He is one of the handful of castle occupants in which do not allow for the Prince to get away with stealing out of his room without informing the King. Eros’ most beloved nicknames for Nikanoru is “angry hat man” and often throws that at Nikanoru as an insult when ever he meets him.
*The Blood Chamber. Now, if you’ll notice, he does not consider this place a feared place. There is a tremendous amount of speculation amongst the more lowly members of the castle as to why this is. The most common thought is that because of his special “condition”, he has no reason to fear the evil and pain that is caused within the Blood Chamber. Others think that since the boy knows nearly every nook and cranny of the castle, he’s visited the Blood Chamber so many times, its no longer a fear of the unknown. Of course, this does not mean he does not dislike the place. Any place stained with blood and the smell of death would cause someone not to like it.
*Screams. However, there is one thing he cannot stand from the Blood Chamber and that is the screams of people in pain. It’s a painful ordeal for him to have to listen to people screaming. Once someone starts screaming and if he cannot help them, he begins to cry to drown them out.
.Goals.
*Grow strong like Laties.
*To become a good King. (He, of course, has no idea how important this would be.)
*Stick a spider in Lords Nikanoru’s slippers without getting caught.
*Learn how to control a cool weapon like Israfel’s.
*Meet a good Shade and befriend one.
*Figure out how to return his sister to normal.
*Show his worth to his parents and finally be accepted by them.
.Fears.
*Being locked in a dark dungeon. The very thought will drive him into an insane fit of tears. Many nights, his nightmares plaque him with images of him being locked away in a dark dungeon and forgotten to die. These nightmares come to him often and there is speculation that perhaps Lumen is sending these images as a warning to the young boy of future events to come.
*Thunder and lightening. ‘Nuff said.
*Snow (hint hint). Whenever it snows, an innate fear snaps in the boy and drives him to madness. Often, he throws such terrible fits that the only way to console him is to place him in the castle kitchen where there are no windows and next to the great hearth used for baking and cooking stews. This is where he’ll sleep until Naahra brings him to his own room to calm him.
*Being underwater (hint hint). Bathing is a simple and fun task to Eros, but if he finds himself under water that reaches above his head, its very similar to his reaction of the snow in that he will throw a fit until something is found to calm him which is often draping himself in the largest blanket he can find in the castle with a cup of warm milk in his hands.
.Personality. Well, what hasn’t been said about this interesting young lad? Eros is truly an odd piece of work. Despite his cruel fate and his cold parents, Eros often keeps an upbeat and happy sense of life. He is one of those types of people whom you can’t get depressed or get a sense of doom past them. His happy demeanor is often looked down upon by his father as an annoyance, in which he doesn’t seem to notice. But despite his family issues, Eros often finds things in which will constantly amuse him, be it a beetle crawling on the floor, helping the cooks to make pies, or finding time to be with his sister. Keeping busy has probably kept him from his own insanity, although, not quite completely…

.Family.
.Father. King Osirus
.Mother. Queen Marcelle
.Siblings. Princess Naahra
.History. Born three years after the first Princess of Alyssus, her baby brother Eros was born, crowned Prince of the throne and beloved son of Marcelle and Osirus. Or so they had hoped. However, after their child was born, Osirus noticed something odd about his son, something that would affect him for the rest of his life. Nocens Atrum could sense it and told Osirus the one thing that would destroy his hopes for a ruling Prince: Lumen had heavy influence over this boy. As Nocens Atrum had control over Osirus himself, the boy had been born under the very star of Lumen. Furious, Nocens Atrum ordered to have the baby killed. But what remained of Osirus’ previous good heart allowed the boy to live. He informed his wife of the heavy influence of their Prince of Lumen. Making a decision to let the boy live, but not thrive meant keeping the Prince a secret from everyone else. The servants and maids of the castle were forced under a heavy and strict veil of silence. Even the Knights were not informed of the boy’s birth. For several months, the boy was mothered by Marcelle, then handed to a nanny to take care of him until he was old enough to be left in a room by himself. But the spirited boy found it painfully boring, so thus he began his exploration of every known secret passageway of the castle.
Eros did not grow up completely by himself. In fact, his sister and he grew very close when Naahra could find it in her ability to steal time with him. When Naahra would leave at night, he would find a way to join her. He would often involve his sister in silly games and they would laugh and play like any pair of happy children. However, on Naahra’s thirteenth birthday, when Eros was ten, Osirus gave Naahra a gift that would change into an obedient daughter that seemingly had less time for her brother. But Eros did not hate her for it, nor really his father. Instead, he found more things to amuse himself with including that of finding time to watch his hero, Laties, train and battle with other Knights of equal caliber. He enjoyed the skirmishes Laties, Lourette, and the Sergeant Israfel would get into, dreaming of becoming a Knight or a good King.
Shortly after his sixth birthday, however, Eros began to have terrible nightmares that would continue to plague him well into his teen years. The nightmares were often of him being locked in a dungeon and forgotten, or drawing in a deep and dark lake, or even being left in a snowy mountain to freeze. Sometimes, he would even see an evil deity with four arms, laughing and cackling at him. At times, his nightmares bordered on his parents and even Naahra being murdered. So, why would he care, might one ask? Even despite his loneliness and his parents’ cold attitude towards him, he would never think about disrespecting or even, not loving them. Desiring nothing more than to be treated like a normal boy, he thrives on trying to get this parents to notice him.
Growing up in such a reclusive state has formed a sort of childish attitude. Giggling, playing, and laughing like a nine year old, one would think this boy mentally ill when in fact, he’s quite aware of what goes on around him and can even have moments where he becomes a totally different person. Even on the brink of becoming a teen, he keeps an innocent outlook on life and the people around him.
