The prophets can appear to be any race they please, often picking one and sticking with it. Others suggest they are shape shifters and can appear to be anything they wish. It is truly difficult to say just when, where, or how the prophets were created. There are many rumors as to just how they came to be. Rumors of Lumen merely molding them from herself, rumors of Lumen having relations with a man; and possibly that they simply appeared from Lumen’s will. Either way, the prophets have been around for a very long time, even possibly since Alyssus was born of the war between Lumen and Nocens Atrum. In their time, they have witnessed the rise and fall of evil many times. They have even watched as hundreds, if not thousands of men grasped the Four Sinful Swords and slain all they could. However, as mere prophets, they could only tell people to beware. But in the rise of evil and the massacre of the Shade, people often viewed the prophets as Shade, thus the prophets had to constantly be wary of Osirus’ grasp. However, they were not as lucky as they had been in the past. One of the four prophets ended up being captured and enslaved by Osirus. Forced to prophesize for him, the prophet had no choice but to be his slave.
There are four prophets total:
Prophet Bassette
Prophet Camine
Prophet Freya
Prophet Baphomet
Each prophet has a certain quality in which he or she may or may part amongst mortals. For example, Bassette loves to heal people and loves to impart her wisdom onto other people. Often, when there is someone terribly ill and they pray for Lumen to heal them, Bassette will come to the person or their family in a dream and tell them where she is so that she may heal them. While on the other hand, Baphomet’s sole enjoyment in life is to make everyone miserable and reveal to them the misconception of man’s good will.
