Who were the Original Knights?:Israfel, Lourette, and Laties
.__{{T H E Character
.Name. Gaius Shepherd
.Nickname. Gaia, The Silent Shepherd.
.Age. 30
.Birthday. July 5th.
Race: Derin
Allegiance: King Osirus
Profession/Rank: Knight Captain (I can settle for less if needed be, seeing as I'm new.)
.Hair. Long, white hair with strands of purple reaching down to his neck.
.Eyes. A blankish white.
.Physical Description. A very dark, purplish color of skin. He stands around 6'0 1/2, not much smaller or taller than most Derins. He has a lean, wiry body, but packs alot more muscle than one might think. His ears are long and pointed upward, all the better to hear evil with. He has no facial hair, but his eyebrows are very thick. He has a thin, but long nose.
He needs to be light if he wants to be an assasin, thus, not much heavy armor. Instead, he chooses to wear a weather resistant cloak, with light, but durable leather armor underneath. He goes around bare-footed most of the time, making him even lighter, and more quiet. He wears wooly and worn out leggings to keep warm, uncomfortable as they may be. The only heavy armor he wears are two metal gauntlets, from which he can eject small battle knives, or eject a small hidden blade for an unnoticable kill. Around his body are usual Derinian markins, on which most of them are focused around religion and and honor. He even has dried blood markings to look vaguely like Osirus's head on his chest to confirm his allegiance to the King.

.Likes. Simple things, yes and no questions, quiet, Shema, historical and biographical books, and good penmanship.
.Dislikes. Druids, ongoing conversations, complex or subtle questions, Lumen and any of its followers, slavers.
.Goals.
He normally tends to keep to the Shades and himself. Not exactly the most outgoing person considering he's a mute. He has trouble making relationships due to this. Not exactly that he minds, considering the Derin's original allegiance and role was to Osirus. He thinks lowly of people's opinion of him. He hates doing too much manual labor due to his past.
He takes moderate pleasure when killing people. It keeps them eternally quiet. Shuts them up, as he crudely thinks to himself. He likes simple things, as talking leads to action, and action leads to conspiracy, war, or peace, and that leads to sub-genres, and more talking, and more complicated life. To sum it up, he leads a quite literal life of silence, mostly keeps to comrades, and has trouble respecting or being with people other than Osirus.
.__{{T H E Fairytale
.Family.
.Father. Mako Shepherd- A proud and religious man. A somewhat dangerous combination. Was originally an assasin for Osirus and all around mercenary before all the Derins were forced into exile.
.Mother. Tali Raza Shepherd- Known to help Mako with alot of his duties. He was her only other love other than Osirus. Charming, no? She also displayed slight more emotion than her husband. Obviously none of that was passed down to Gaius.
.Siblings. None.
.History. (Okay, I know the history might sound slightly emo and such, but I'll try to make this tasteful and un-emo as possible. Sorry.) Gaius's family never spoke much. Rarely at all unless at extremely critical times. This is because his family's heritage traced back to many ancestors of assasination, and a number one rule of being an assasin is being quiet. It soon became a practice in the family tree to make least noise as possible during missions, and in general life, to make it easier. As each generation passed, less was spoken, and soon it became a rule to only talk when training a pupil, or praying. More generations passed, and they created sign language, letting them speak without mouths. Most generations spoke a little, others didn't speak at all.
Gaius's family thus didn't speak much, leading Gaius to become a mute. His family trained him until 12 years old, until a small group of renegade Druids who had forsaken their religion for the forbidden magic attacked their family. The family lived a tad closer to civilization unlike the other Derin, but they didn't think much harm could come of it, and they were somewhat hidden. But chance wrought upon them. The Druids seized, and killed Gaius's family. Of course, due to little communication, there was little emotion. It always came down to pleasing Osirus and honing their abilities. He liked it this way, as he was exposed to no other.
So he did not care much when they were slaughtered a couple feet away from them. He let himself be taken as a slave with no hassle, as there was no use to fight, cornered as he was. They saw someone young and fit making a good slave for their little troupe. Plus, he was a mute. No voice, no damn whining.
For roughly eight years he was forced to observe their forbidden rituals, work for them, harvest their food, clean after them, and so on. The worst part about is as they were a small group, they could make more personal and dirty requests, that if, pushed to the limit, one being could handle. But one day, on his twentieth birthday, they tried to make him bow down to their god. Participate in their ritual. This was unacceptable. He had learned over the years, that not everyone followed Osirus. People had their own religions, and he must be tolerant of it. Yet these mongrels had first of all abandoned their own religion, which upset him enough, and now they wanted him to worship a FALSE god? Unacceptable.
During the labor, he was condemnded to use minor magic to complete tasks, so he had moderate experience in all forms. He had also put on a large amount of muscle and stamina from all the work. So when he went berserk, it was only a matter of releasing all this muscle and magic in raw, unrelenting form. Strangely enough, like him, they were quiet when they were instantaneously killed. It happened to quickly and suddenly, there was no time for hideous screams and sound. He ejoyed this.
He had no reason to return to his people, Osiris was making an uprising, why not join him? The Shades weren't all too happy to see a Derin try to form into their ranks, but after proving his worth, which was not easy in such a biased crowd, they saw he had a place here, and Derins were originally part of their great army. So he's been an assasin and a soldier on the front lines for Osirus, hoping to slowly build his way in rank and please Osirus to his dark and murderous delight.

.Role Play Sample. A silent slash was made as the general's life came to a swift end. As usual, no scream could be processed as Gaius came out of nowhere to kill the would-be rebellion leader. This was partly due to him making no breathing as he snuck up on the poor man. Gaius had heard that this general was gathering followers, thinking they could disobey and turn over Osirus with enough effort. They would think twice now.
He had monitored the general, and learned he was a man of habit. He came to the same tavern every Tuesday at 7:00 for their special soup, and left at 9:00. Things like these got you killed in the assasin's world. He had set himself up for the perfect kill too. The main authorities around here were followers of Lumen, and while they didn't particularly like Shades, he did nothing wrong, meaning they couldn't do much other than warn people of his presence. Still, fueled by their dislike, they would probably look the other way at this case, and if not, he was sure some gold coins would ease their thoughts.
He then slipped away just as easily as the wind blows, and perhaps, even more quietly. It was time to go write out his report for the day, and then perhaps, read up on some histories of past famous Shade. All in the schedule for the Silent Shepherd.

.Goals.
- To help Osirus as closely as he can
- bide to his religion
- hone his skills to max potentials
- learn all sign language
- when and if Osirus takes over, to request help for destroying all Druids.
- Making too much noise
- Osirus and not being able to please him
- Slight claustrophobia.
