"Ah, it's good to see you're awake..." Freya said softly, immediately sliding her robe back on and tying the sash around her waist. "I was worried you wouldn't make it with a wound like that... Luckily I was here..." Slowly, she ran one hand along Katsou's violet locks, smiling gently. "And, as for why I'm here, I could be asking you the same question..."
The birds began chirping again, though none of them rested in the lower branches. Slowly whistling a tune, she held out one finger and a tiny finch flew from the branches of a rowan tree and lighted down upon her finger. The tiny bird seemed a bit unnerved in Katsou's presence, so, within five seconds of landing upon the prophet's finger, it flew off. Laughing softly, Freya came to sit beside the lying male, her hand running along his beautiful hair again.
"And, my name is Freya," she replied. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Katsou. And..." The small smile on her face widened to a grin. "And, I can tell you aren't from around here... The birds would land at your feet wanting to be fed if you've been here before... They do that all the time when I'm here..."
Lucian watched the male's every move, tense at first, then relaxing more and more as he came to realize that this man may not pose a threat to his lady. But there was one little problem... She still was kindly to him... There may not be any problem in that, but he was still scared that she may believe this man to be Baphomet, and that would not be good. /Let's just hope that Freya knows that this isn't Baphomet.../ he thought to himself, turquoise eyes locked upon the violet-haired man.

"Freya... Thats a nice name... The birds say they like it to.." Without elaborating, Katsou stood up, out of Freya's wandering hands- so to speak- without being rude. Although it was good to see him on his feet- the blood rushed to his head for a second- sending him reeling for the slightest moment.
"Why am I here?... Theres a war going on in the dessert. My home has been ripped apart by fighting and as soon as I signed up to fight... The fighting came to a head..." Katsou watched the distant clouds with that familiar glazed expression, like the fight was happening just over there. "I was thrown into the river... And some how I ended up here. Some one was looking down on me that day, thats for sure!" Katsou chuckled playfully- obviously the trance was broken. "But I'm sure my angst ridden story has already been spoken by many mouths before me" and thats as far as he would go. Crouching down, he faced Freya head on. His back was turned to the white tiger and thus far he had payed the beast little notice. "Freya... What is such a pretty thing like you doing in a war plagued land? Shouldn't you be on some tropical island sipping wine from a coconut husk?" He smiled, but then took on a serious note. "Why were you crying before?"

Freya smiled gently, and was completely unaware of the soft, almost unnoticable blush that had appeared on her cheeks. "Thank you...Katsou..." she replied, sliding her hands off the man as he stood. It took him a second to actually get on his feet, but once he was, she listened intently to his story, shock forming in her golden eyes. "That...that's terrible!" she said, one hand over her mouth in shock. To hear such terrible stories about his land...about being cast into a river and being washed all the way here...
"Well, fate certainly smiled upon you, Katsou..." she whispered. "If I wasn't here...who knows what would've happened..."
It was then that he crouched in front of her and asked her why she was here. Her gaze went down to her lap, and she let out a soft sigh. "I...I don't like to speak of it, but... I think I can trust you, Katsou..." Gently, she reached forward, taking one of the violet-haired male's hands. "Truth be told, I am a Prophet... So, I am bound to this land until the end of time. Whether in times of peace or times of war, I am stuck here... And... Why was I crying?" She had to close her eyes to fend off the tears that were coming to her. "A close friend of mine has just...died...before I could tell him goodbye..." She turned her head away to hide the tears that were rolling down her cheeks. "Forgive me... I'm...still kind of touchy on the subject..."

Gently he plucked a tear away from her cheek with his thumb. "There, there... Who ever your friend was, and whatever a prophet is. Your more brave than me. I couldn't be as strong as you at a time like this..." Katsou had noticed the rose flush that crossed her cheeks. But ignored it- now was not the time to go flirting.
Once more Katsou took residence beside her. "I'm sorry I'm not as clever as many of the men you've probably met. Living in a ditch doesn't help, but-" Katsou yawned and rapped his caring arm around her shoulder and pulled her close to him like a brother would. "What does it matter. I've got you, and you've got me. Fate brought us together today so..." Katsou's voice trailed off as a bluebird came down and perched at his feet.

Freya felt Katsou's warm fingers wipe away one of her tears, and her head turned to face him again. She had no idea what to say. He was so kind to her... It seemed he didn't know of Baphomet, nor did he know what a prophet was. Well, it was probably for the best...
Katsou's arm wrapped around her shoulders and he pulled her close to him, making the faint blush on her cheeks grow a shade darker. It was true. They did have each other, so why ruin the moment? Seeing the bluebird go and land at his feet, Freya laughed. "See? The birds are warming up to you!" she said happily. "They see how kind you're being and they see they can trust you!" She unknowingly snuggled closer to Katsou, enjoying the warmth of his kindness to her.
A soft sigh escaped Lucian. It seemed she'd been forgotten. Well, he wouldn't leave Freya either way, forgotten or not. He was her retainer, and it was his duty as a retainer to stay with her. But...it seemed her attention was now on this man... /Either way,/ he thought, shifting into a Snowy Owl, /I won't leave her. She still loves me, and I know that. She just thinks that this Katsou is Baphomet, right?/ He ruffled his feathers irritably, blinking his blue eyes. /Of course that's right!/ he tried to reassure himself.

He felt her snuggle close to him and he sighed. A sort of brotherly love? He wasn't sure what this feeling was but whatever it was he just carried on holding her. Freya needed this contact. She had just lost some one who was obviously very dear to her. Finally, Katsou looked like he noticed the tiger. "Nice pet... Certainly more flash than the dog I had once!" He grinned but it was, to be frank, a little half hearted. Katsou had noted the way the tiger had stared at them this whole time. He was certainly uncomfortable with this whole 'arrangement'. "Whats the tiger called?.." Katsou pointed his thumb to the feline.
The bluebird sang. Well what seemed like singing to the average man who heard its song. But really, it was the cry of fear. This bird was afraid once more. This bird who called himself Cara, had ventured to the land of the sands long ago and witnessed many acts of horror. Cara watched the man act so cool, and knew this man had witnessed unthinkable acts of violence and unimaginable cruelty because Cara had followed him a while ago. The bird was indeed scared of him, but also in awe of his affection to a female he had only just met. And Cara smiled inwardly, because as he heard the mans story he knew he would never tell this female so soon, about a acquaintance of Katsou. A man of the shadows, a man who could talk to inanimate objects and who drank the blood of vampires by moon light. The Man With No Face.

Freya opened her eyes to look at Lucian. The owl had stood silently, his eyes flicking back and forth from Katsou to the bird called Cara. "First of all," he spoke, his voice a mix of a deep, human voice and ominous-sounding owl hoots, "I am no pet of Freya's. I happen to be her retainer, or, for simpletons like you, her guard. I--" he was silenced by Freya hitting him lightly with her tail. Her eyes had the look in them that said, 'One more word like that and your feathers will be plucked'.
Pausing, Lucian ruffled his feathers and continued. "Anyway, I am called Lucian." With that, he spread his wings and flew up into a snow-clad tree nearby, lighting upon a low branch where he could easily see Freya.
Freya's eyes narrowed slightly in the direction where Lucian flew off and sighed. "Apologies, Katsou," she whispered, looking back at the man, her amber-colored eyes bright with the light of apology. "He's not usually like that..." Laughing softly, she placed one hand to her mouth, as if she were telling a secret, and whispered, "I think he's jealous of you, tell you the truth..." Laughing, she snuggled back into her former position, her arms hugging Katsou tightly. She was glad to have his company, because he understood... Lucian didn't, since he knew Baphomet didn't love her, nor did he even have a hint of liking her in him. He thought Freya was crazy for loving such a strange creature as Baphomet was...

"Freya..." Katsou's voice took an ominous tone. "Freya, I- I mean I would like to tell you all about myself. I could sit here right now, and spill my heart out- tell you everything that has happened to me but..." Katsou stared off into the storm clouds as they brewed overhead. There was a long pause before Katsou spoke again. "Freya, I think we should find a place to take cover. I can smell the rain, any moment now were gonna' get drenched!" Katsou's tone was a lot brighter- like he had never spoken so darkly only moments before. Once again, Katsou stood up and watched the sky churn up a great sea of black. "Yup. Were gonna get drenched!" And as he said this, rain suddenly fell down like bullets.
Katsou swiftly turned around and plucked his Saviour from the grass. "I've never in my whole life seen rain come down so fast! Snow, rain, what next!?" he cried over the sound of the weather, which sounded like someone turned on a hose. And felt like it too. "Do you have some were near by were we can shelter?" the male asked quickly while the two started to reassemble drowned rats!

Freya's feline ears pricked up, and she looked around. "I..." She opened her eyes and stared up at the stormy sky. Snow had fallen, and now rain was coming! This was certainly getting strange... As Katsou plucked her from the grass, Freya blushed, despite the fact that the chilling rain had her raven-colored hair plastered to her face and her robe to her slender form. Her eyes flicked to Lucian, holding a look in them that said, 'Try to find us a shelter.'
The owl swiveled his head 180 degrees before spreading his wings and flying through the trees, occasionally lighting down on a branch and turning his head around to see if the two were following.
"Lucian wants us to follow him," the prophet said softly. "He'll lead us to shelter..."
Yup, the owl was leading them to shelter, a place where he'd been to many a time before Freya found him... A huge, ancient oak, with its branches hanging so low, they ran along the ground. The foliage was so thick, only the occasional raindrop could sneak through. It was a beautiful place, undefiled by human hands, and Lucian knew there were many good places to rest and keep an eye on that violet-haired man.

Katsou ran to the oak, pulling the long branches shut, to block the falling rain from the figures. "My, my. I've never seen this. Is this type of weather common here?" Katsou asked as he placed Freya on the ground. He seemed to be unaffected by the spiritual energy from this place. "Thanks Lucian mate!" Katsou nodded and gave a small applause to the owl. Katsou couldn't quite believe that the owl was anything special... Apart from an owl. Who likes to change into tigers sometimes. But even that's sounded too far fetched for Katsou's eyes.
"Well, I think now is the time to tell me what the hell a 'prophet' is?" He sat on his knees, and faced her like he was a student- eager to learn. "I mean, I've hung around with you for around half an hour- and you saved me which I'm eternally grateful for but, holy horses- how on earth am I supposed to ignore what ever you are, when you keep doing all this weird stuff!" Katsou threw his arms into the air, "Tigers morphing into owls, you- who healed my wounds" Katsou chuckled. "I should be 30 minutes dead!"
He lowered his head, sighing heavily in the process. "Who are you Freya?" And secretly, Katsou was thinking -and what have I gotten myself into?-.

As Freya felt the pelting rain halt as they disappeared beneath the thick foliage of the tree. Hanging her head, the prophet shivered, the cold rain soaking her through her robes. Her breathing was deep, and it seemed she was fine, but anyone who was sharp enough could tell that the prophet was suffering from cold.
Lucian was the one who spoke first. He glided down from one of the branches, morphing into tiger form and laying against Freya to try to suppress her shivers. "First of all, the only reason I am able to shift from tiger to owl is because I am a shapeshifter. I have a human form as well, but I prefer not to show it to just anyone.
Freya smiled softly at the tiger, stroking his head with a trembling hand, and looked up. "Now, I will explain to you what a prophet is," she whispered, taking a deep breath. "There are, well, were, four prophets--I was crying over the loss of one of them before," she said, Baphomet's face flashing into her mind for a split second. "We have the ability to see future events, but we cannot tell when they will come. For example, I may forsee someone's death a minute, an hour, a day, a month, or even a year before they die. Even so, I cannot do anything about this person's death, I can just warn them..." Her gaze turned to Lucian, then back to Katsou. "I'm sorry...I must be boring you," she whispered. "Forgive me..."

Bassette watched as her sister left her grasp, an entranced look in Freya's eyes told Bassette her sister would not be coming back to her arms. Bassette sat there for a moment, watching as her sister tended to this odd stranger. She could feel her sister's heart swell with pity for the mortal as she watched her beloved Freya. Lucien was up and at his lady's side quickly as Azazeal came to Bassette. Without even looking at her retainer's effervescent image, Bassette could sense his annoyance towards Freya for leaving so suddenly. It had seemed to be all but a dream that Freya had let Bassette to comfort her. It was a nice moment in spite of the circumstances, but it had been so long since her sister hadn't focused on her like a rotten peice of meat. But now, as this new stranger has appeared, Bassette could only worry about her sister. Oh, Freya...please don't hurt yourself for a mortal...
"She's quick to move onto the next man...like always..." Azazeal muttered. Bassette gave him a weak smile, then sighed and watched as her sister and the mortal leave as the rain started. Bassette didn't mind the rain, however. It was nice to feel the rain on her skin for a chance, even as the water seeped through her white night gown. "Her soul is crying out...seeking for attention in her time of need...It just happened to be this mortal who caught this cry with his own..." Bassette said. She closed her eyes for a moment and lifted her face into the rain, feeling it as it dripped down her face. Even in the darkness of the night and rain clouds, Bassette seemed to still attain her phosphorescent glow about her body. Azazeal watched his lady for a moment, then he shook his head. "My Lady, you should return before you catch a cold..." Bassette opened her eyes for a moment, and smiled. "You're right..." Looking at Azazeal, she smiled again. "Azazeal...I am truly blessed to be surrounded by people who care, much like you and Aden..." Azazeal's face grew bright red, then nodded. "I am truly thankful for you as well my lady. Now please hurry." With that, Azazeal's image vanished. Bassette sat there for a moment longer before her small frame formed into that of her white unicorn and vanished like a whisper.

"Nonsense!" Katsou smiled at Freya. Holding her hands in his, Katsou said gently "Please continue, and don't stop..." A long pause followed. Silence filled there little bubble. Then with lowered eyes, he grinned. "A shape shifter eh? It all makes sense..." Another pause, as the cogs turned in Katsou's mind. "You two are strong, wise and have been on these lands for a long time- am I right?" Sparkling eyes looked past the sorrow in Freya's and the strong glances which this Lucian seemed to hand out like it was out of fashion, and ignored it all. Like Katsou was walking blindly to the edge of a precipice, and only the answer to this question could save him. Metaphorically of course. "What you happen to have heard of 'The Man With No Face'?" Katsou smiled like a school boy in a sweet shop. With a loud squawk, Cara dropped out of the tree.
What on earth was he thinking? Even this small bird, which many would say was insignificant in the order of things, knew that uttering such a name was dangerous. But maybe, just maybe, news from the desert hadn't filtered down to here! Maybe no one knew who 'The Man With No Face' was! Hopefully, she would give him an odd look and this man would just go back to doing whatever Katsou does. And Freya would go on living her life. But Cara doubted that, because luck didn't seem to be on both Cara, and Katsou's side.

Hearing Katsou's question, Freya's expression changed from one of fascination to confusion. "The Man with No Face?" she asked, her head tilting slightly to the side like a confused animal. "The name sounds familiar, but I've never seen him before...or at least I don't think I have..." Raising an eyebrow, the Lustful Prophet wracked her mind for anything about this man that Katsou spoke of. "I remember hearing his name when I was in the Gurella desert... I didn't hear much else, but they seemed afraid when his name was brought up..."
Lucian listened to Freya, and when she was finished, he spoke. "I remember hearing the same people speaking, and they said something about he slaughtered an entire legion of warriors by himself... Not very hard, if you ask me, but still, I'm not surprised it would strike fear into the hearts of any mere mortal..." Seeing that bird land again, the tiger shifted into a human, adjusted his glasses on his nose, and blinked. "Seems distressed," he said, referring to Cara. "Wonder what's wrong with him..."

Katsou smiled, remembering a distant time. Nodding at there comment. Of course the name would be vague, this isn't Gurella. This isn't class. This was life and whatever happened back then, The Man With No Face was not invincible."He was my tutor..." Katsou sighed. They must have both lost some one dear.
Cara lifted a tiny beak, shifting its weight a little on two thin legs. He looked angrily at Lucian- foolish pest he thought, hasn't got the common sense to help me up. Ruffling his feathers, he flew back up to the branch- where he resumed his chorus- but still listened to Katsou. Inside he was relieved for Katsou. Who knows what could have happened if the lady was an official from Gurella.
Katsou lay back on the soft grass, examining and idly playing with a strand of grass an arms distance away. "What happened to him?" Katsou asked gently, making sure he kept his eyes away from Freya. If he said the wrong thing or said it too harshly- she might cry. And oh how Katsou couldn't cope with tears made by himself.
