Mild surprise and confusion filled Eltana's warped mind as he bore witness to the princess' transformation following the removal of her pendant. For a brief moment he didn't know what to make of the entire thing, but then remembered what he was told by Osirus and Marcelle when he first joined their inner circle. Naahra was not a creature of the night or an impostor as some of the rumors stated, but was the same princess she had always been--except that the pendant given to her by her father had turned her into an obedient, loyal puppet. Eltana suspected that because the pendant was broken, tensions would certainly rise between the princess and her parents soon enough.
His amber gaze quickly darted from the traitor over to the mysterious Prince Eros as the boy began to give his unexpected speech to Laties. Whatever color his ghostly white face had quickly faded, his luminous eyes narrowed in anxiousness and mild anger. What on earth was this? Judging by his words, Lumen had a great influence over the young prince--which was obviously why his parents had sworn the castle's servants to secrecy, as he had just deduced. The mystery of the enigmatic Eros had finally been cracked wide open for Eltana: the boy was reclused so that he wouldn't pose a threat to his father; Osirus didn't want Lumen's presence to develop within Eros.
Eltana suspected that Lumen herself was speaking through the boy, but couldn't be sure; whether it was the Goddess of Light herself or not, he knew that she was trying to convey some sort of message through young Eros. The merchant in possession of the Dolus Sword wouldn't hand it over unless his intentions were pure? That was of no consequence to him; if the foolish nomad didn't want to hand it over peacefully, the legendary blade would be ripped from his cold, dead hands. Lumen's blessing meant nothing, for she was a meddlesome wench who didn't know her place. Regardless, he knew he would have to inform the Dark King of the development for the good of Nocens Atrum.
A smirk formed on his lips as Laties confirmed that he intended to go along with both the Dolus and Odium Sword bets. Eltana knew he had nothing to lose in the former bet, but the latter could definitely prove to be problematic; he would have to relate the wager to his men positioned at the Nocens Atrum Temple as soon as possible and have them brave the labyrinth below the sacred temple to retrieve it. He knew it seemed that he had the upper hand in both situations, but Laties' confidence and determined demeanor had him worried and a bit flustered. The desert monkey obviously knew something that he didn't.
Without speaking a word to the royal children Eltana turned from them and quickly strided out the door. Except for knowing the facts that he would have to speak with King Osirus and notify his men of the threat to the Odium Sword, the effeminate weapons dealer was flustered and at a loss. He decided that it would be best to hold a conference at his estate with some of his most loyal servants.
((Exit Eltana))
