"Laties, no!" Xhu called after the mad rogue. It was painfully obvious that Laties' actions were not his own anymore. Xhu stood there for a moment staring at the lumbering beast that had moved to follow Laties. There was nothing more disgusting in life than to have to be forced to do anything, with or without a soul. It was pure torture; a mind numbing torture that would drive any man insane. Xhu himself had met any a men who had fallen under the spell or intimate control of a mad entity and forced to do things beyond their will. Even if their soul was rent from their captivated enclosure, being possessed left a scar that no medicine could even hope to heal. It was almost a fate worse than death. Xhu blinked slowly and swallowed deeply, trying to exhale the grotesque smell from his body. As the slippery body moaned and screeched after Laties, Xhu gave Baphomet a quick glance before raising both hands to shoulder height. He then flicked his wrists with his palms facing out. Closing his eyes, he pursed his lips together and made a small noise.
Flappa flappa
The sound of paper rustling against each other was heard as a small peice of paper about three inches long formed in front of each palm. It was white and free of any mark. Slowly opening his eyes, Xhu took a careful step forward so that his legs were spread apart, the long folds of his clothing straining with the movement.
"Kri." The papers suddenly cloned themselves, making an even circle of ten papers, still pure white and bank.
"Tril." Without warning, the papers flew out from his hands and surrounded him in a cylindrical shield reaching high above his head. There were easily hundreds of these small blank papers now surrounding the ancient. He slowly moved his waist so that now one arm was in front of him while the other was facing back.
"Gna." The papers suddenly flashed brightly and crimson symbols formed on the papers, all the same mark. The mark resembled an eye with three long triangles resting just under the lid of the open eye.
"Suk." He flicked his fingers and a single peice of paper shot out of the revolving shield if papers. With this paper singled out, he clapped his hands together and the papers halted sharply. Then, they disappeared in a small flash. Xhu moved his eyes to the lumbering chimera and suddenly, the paper zipped right over to the beast, attaching itself to the soft flesh of the creature. Without warning, the paper exploded, sending bright red binding marks all over the beast, attempting to bind the chimera from movement. Exhaling slightly, without even looking to Baphomet, he ran towards the beast and leaped over the top of it after Laties.
"Laties!"

Now standing at a safe distance, Baphomet watched as the Ancient manpulated the many small pieces of paper with a strange, yet seemingly simple incantation. He was far from impressed, considering Xhu's attack nothing more than a cheap parlor trick. As soon as he saw it successfully bind the monstrosity, however, he reclucantly admitted to himself that it was indeed effective. It seemed that he had slightly underestimated the guardian.
He snapped himself back to reality once he noticed Xhu running off to catch up with Laties. "Dammit, wait for me!" he growled angrily, breaking into a sprint. The Prophet's run came to a quick and abrupt halt as he heard another disturbing, spine-tingling noise come from the creature's two mouths. No, it wasn't just a simple wail or gurgle - it was coherent speech. Moreover, the creature's voice sounded completely different: It was a silky, seductive tone that seemed to carry a haunting melody. Something about the new voice disturbed the Prophet far more than the creature's unintelligible grunts.
"Trailing behind are we, Baphy?" the sensual voice poured from both mouths with an amused chuckle. "That's not exactly prudent in a place like this, you know - which surprises me, really, considering how wise and learned you are..."
Baphomet slowly turned around to face the abomination, shackled by the surprise of hearing a dead body talk in such a suggestive tone. He fixed his dark eyes on the Yearner of Woe's temporary vessel, lips twitching into a heavy scowl. "The Yearner of Woe, I presume?"
"You address me so formally. What a polite little boy you are! I find that so very attractive. Why don't you just call me... Master?"
"I will never obey you," he spat back vehemently, venom dripping from his words.
"Are you so sure about that?"
With that, the two corpses crumbled into a pile of ashes and soot, the Yearner of Woe having apparently severed its control over the abomination. The mist and fog grew heavier and darker around Baphomet, essentially blinding him.
Letting out a curse, Baphomet darted off in the direction he believed Xhu and Laties went, hoping to catch up with them...
((OOC: I'm going to off Baphomet a little earlier than expected so that I can focus on Eltana in the upcoming scene. He'll be dead in the next post, so say your good-byes!)

{My apologizes for taking so long! Theatre is over and I’ve caught up with my sleep! I have a bit of writer‘s block!}
Laties skidded to a stop as his head snapped to a pathway revealing the doors to the tomb. He stood there for a moment, not believing that it was the way out. Sweat rolled down his face, tiny steams of blood rolled down his arms and fell onto the floor. His heart was pounding, his body screamed for him to stop. Yet, he began to run. He sprinted to the tomb’s doors before sliding to a stop and pulling on the handles.
The door groaned loudly as it was forced open, it opened slowly, due to the rust on it’s hinges. It was hurting his arms, muscles were being torn as the rogue pulled on it with all his strength. A small groan escaped him as he pulled the door wide enough for him to barely slip through. Several minutes passed before he could finally make his way between the door before he collapsed onto the floor, exhausted. He laid on the floor panting, trying to regain the breath he lost before he slowly looked up at the sword.
Get up…
Laties slowly stood as he stumbled towards the sword and offered it a goofy smile. “It’s been awhile…” He whispered as he ran his fingers over the flat side of the blade. A shiver went down his back as he felt the sword’s un-released hatred flow into his body. “Far too long…” He murmured softly as he ran his finger on the sharp side and drew his finger back when it sliced skin. His eyes stared at the thin cut before licking the small droplet of blood from his finger before picking up the sword.
Another shiver went through Laties as his clutched onto the hilt and stared at the blade as it began to turn into a bright red. The temple shook as Laties called out for the elements to him, clashing against the barrier surrounding the temple. “Shatter…” Laties murmured as the blade suddenly cracked. A gust of ’wind’ flew from the sword, causing the door to fly off it’s hinges. The hatred from the sword was pouring out like a tsunami. Within seconds, the sword shattered, the broken pieces flying in all directions, cutting Laties as they did. The ‘wind’ that had flew outwards suddenly flew back inwards towards Laties before vanishing.
Several moments of silence passed as Laties stared at the ground, his own vision slowly fading into darkness. His heart was pounding, but it was pounding with something else, in union with another. It felt as though another heart was beating in his chest, another soul was stirring inside him. A cackle escaped his lips as his body moved without his consent. That was what he remembered before he was consumed in the dark.
Laties’ body moved towards the door, his once dark colored eyes were now a fiery blood red. “Ah… Finally…” He chuckled as he stretched his arms ignoring the pain he felt. “It feels good, so gooooood!” he moaned in pure pleasure as he stepped out of the room.

Xhu ran down the extending hall to where the sword room was, only to see Laties already exiting. It hit him like a ton of bricks. He had failed in keeping Laties safe. He stared at him with a gaping mouth as he exited the room looking like a piece of minced meat. But there was something else about him. Laties was no longer. What had remained of his good soul was now drowning beneath this hideous evil that consumed him. Xhu stared at him for a moment longer, then noticed a shard of metal laying on the floor next to Laties' foot. Xhu's eyes focused on it for a moment, then his body reacted. His stomach tightened and he felt as if someone had just punched him in the gut. The sword has been destroyed!? One would think that he would have been happy, if not exuberant. With the sword destroyed, Nocens Atrum would have no way of killing Lumen. But this was not the case.
Xhu knew Laties was no longer himself. He threw his hands forward as he stood in a protective stance. He may have destroyed the sword...but he has taken Laties' soul for his own whom ever this creature is...I can't let him get away with this...Lady Bassette begged me to keep him safe... Xhu set his feet, his hands out with his palms facing Laties.
"I know not who you are...but what you have done is unforgivable...I cannot allow you to consume this man's soul as you have done..." Xhu said to Laties. He took a step forward, a frown on his face. He would not show it, but he was nervous. He had no idea how to handle his situation and he didn't want to hurt Laties.
"Please return him to his rightful state..."

Sudden and unexpected applause cut through the tension that filled the auditorium-like chamber like a knife through butter. The source of the applause, none other than Lord Eltana Remarque - or Magrace, in light of recent revelations- showed himself. He was looking down at the two from the second lowest of the several balconies lining the walls of the circular chamber, arms crossed against his chest. The psychopath was, as always, clothed in a grand and showy outfit: a tight-fitting gown in various shades of purple with white frills lining the shoulders. If either Xhu or Laties knew anything about Eltana, his clothing wouldn't come as much of a surprise.
"My, my - you destroyed the sword! How utterly unexpected! I daresay this isn't going to sit well with King Osirus - not that I care, of course. It would have been beneficial for me if the sword weren't destroyed, but ultimately, whether or not that power-drunk twit is happy is of no consequence to me - not anymore..."
He trailed off, bright amber eyes falling on the possessed Laties. The glowing red eyes immediately tipped him off that something was off about the general. Eltana quirked his right eyebrow in surprise, luscious lips curving into a devious smile.
"What I am interested in, however, is what's happened to my favorite desert monkey. Care to elaborate, Shade filth?" he asked, attention turning to the medicine man.
Ages had passed, kingdoms had risen and fallen without him feeling it, but now it surged through every fiber of his being: terror. He, the demonic Prophet of Malaise, was afraid - very afraid.
Baphomet collapsed against a decaying wall somewhere in the massive labyrinth, hand resting over his host's heart. Beads of sweat trickled down his cheeks, cutting through the soot and dust that covered his pale flesh. His vision was failing him; everything was blurry. Where was he? Was he even awake? He didn't know; his mind, too, was falling apart.
Some dark substance was slowly raining down before his dying eyes, the air around him became heavier and heavier till he could barely breathe. He stared at the falling ashes for what seemed like several years to him, wondering why it was raining ashes indoors...
A shriek - one that made his skin crawl - cut through the misty blackness. Sounds of claws rapidly scratching against stone met his ears, becoming louder and louder by the second. Something was coming. He broke from the wall and started working his way through the maze again, going as fast as he possibly could.
"Damn those bastards! I kindly help them out, and this is the thanks I get!" Baphomet snarled feebly as he trudged through the darkness, breathing heavily. "I risk my life for them, and what do they do? Leave me to die, that's what! Humans are all alike, the assholes!!"
He came to a quick and abrupt halt, obsidian eyes filled with curiosity and absolute terror. There it was, standing right before him: The Yearner of Woe - or at least one of its puppets.
Then it hit him: he was done, finished. He wouldn't simply return to the realm of the Prophet's upon his death - this was a genuine death. That thing was going to destroy him.
He gritted his teeth and glared at the creature before him with uttermost hatred. No, it couldn't end - not like this. He was a PROPHET, a GOD. There was still much he had to do, mortals he had to toy with, lives to control. Thoughts of denial danced in his head, everything began to speed up.
"...GOD DAMMIT, I don't have time for this! Get out of my way before I rip you to shreds, do I make myself clear?! I am a Prophet! I cannot die! I AM ETERNAL!!"
It lunged at him, teeth bared and madness flaring in its eyes.
He tried defending himself with a hastily-prepared spell, but his efforts were in vain.
Everything slowed down, then stopped altogether.
Fade to black.

“Ah, I know that voice.” Laties murmured as he tilted his head slightly to look up at the new director of the blood chamber. “Now to put a name with the voice and face.” he chuckled as he descended down the steps towards the ancient. “Was it Elena? Yes, I believe it was.” He replied to himself as he ran his hand over his injured arms to reveal fresh uncut skin.
Several minutes passed as the rogue ran his hands over his body, healing himself of what wounds he received. “Oh, you wanted to know an answer, correct?” Laties asked as he lightly slapped Xhu’s shoulder and turned on his heel to face Eltana. “I am,” he threw his arms out dramatically, “Nocens Atrum. Though physically, my body belongs to a man you know as Laties Elidd Luhma, Ex-General, Traitor, Monkey…” His hand moved in a circling motion as he named of the various names the rogue was called.
“Any other questions, my dear gender confused fellow?”

It was as if the whole world had just exploded in his face. Xhu felt as if someone had just punched him in the gut and twisted. And this imaginary pain was actually very real. Ancients, empaths of the world, feelers of the Seventh realm, bookkeepers of the legends, could physically feel what had just been done. The death of a Prophet was more than a devestating blow to the Prophets and the Seventh realm, Xhu could feel Fate and mother Earth screaming in pain. Xhu wrapped his arms around his stomach as the pain vibrated into his bones. A pained sweat formed on his face as he gasped for breath. The Prophet Baphomet was dead! Oh...how could I not know!? What bloody course has Fate been possessed to lay out?
And as if the death of a Prophet wasn't enough, whatever had Laties in its death claws had just done something even Xhu couldn't comprehend at that moment. The pain of losing the Prophet was blinding. He swallowed hard as Laties walked forward, another voice echoing in the darkness. Who was it? That docile tone, littered with poison and greed. Eltana Remarque... So much was happening, just what exactly was going on here? Xhu stumbled by the slight touch of Laties as he confronted Eltana. He stumbled to a wall, pressing a shoulder against it. W-why!? Why is this happening!? Xhu! Xhu! You must stop this act of bloodshed! Stop Laties! Do not let him escape the temple! Do not allow Eltana to kill Laties! Xhu felt so sick...how could he have allowed the death of a Prophet!? Lady Bassette...Laties has destroyed one of the swords...he's completely possessed by a portion of Nocens Atrum! I know Xhu. That's why you cannot allow him to leave that temple! If he leaves, he will go after the other swords and we'll have serious trouble...
Xhu brought a hand to his head for a moment, then nodded. At least...I have a sword in a place he'll never get to. As long as he does not know I have it, it will be safe...But to stop him... "Fool...you're only a minor portion of Nocens Atrum...you do not have a being. You are merely a minuscule peice of the true dark god. Don't you dare give yourself that name..." Xhu said to Laties. He pushed himself away from the wall and took a step forward. He snapped his fingers and a stack of white papers piled onto his open palm.
"I'll not let you leave this temple, body thief..."

One would have expected that a revelation of such great magnitude would have shocked and humbled the lord, but that was by no means the case. He just stood there, lithe arms crossed against his chest, luminous eyes resting on the possessed Laties, mocking smile on his perfect, snow white visage.
"...Oh? Is that so?" he teased with a girlish chuckle, brushing a strand of hair from his vision. "No no, I have no more questions for you, my 'dark lord.' Though if you would be so kind as to run along and further whatever plans you have, I'd be beyond appreciative. Mine are just coming to fruition, and your presence would definitely prove troublesome."
Turning from the god back to Xhu, he continued, his words like sugar-coated daggers: "...I doubt you'd have any trouble getting out of here. After all, if this pathetic apothecary couldn't prevent a Prophet from dying, what chance does he stand against you?"
The very second he finished mocking Xhu for allowing the death of Baphomet, his expression changed from amused to suggestive, and the color faded from his bright eyes. He chuckled once again, a chuckle that just seemed... horribly off, more so than his usual mad giggles.
"If I may interject, dear Eltana, I feel the need to say a few things," came the sensual, melodious voice of a woman from the lord's mouth. "First and foremost, you should be hiding for your life instead of giving orders to your puppet, Bassette - and yes, I can hear you, thanks entirely to having absorbed your little brother. It's fairly obvious that you're next on my list, sweetheart. In light of Nocens Atrum's little revelation, our plans have changed slightly, so I'll be setting the pet I reserved for Laties loose on your marionette instead. Surely that will get it through your thick skull that I do not appreciate your meddling, bitch."

Laties smirked as he crossed his arms across his chest. "It is true, I am a mere fragment of Nocens Atrum, but at the moment. I am as real as he gets." He circled the other man, his eyes taking in every inch of him. "I sense a power that doesn't belong to you." He stated softly before he began walking away a few yards, "I will have it soon enough."
He tilted his head up to look at the lord, his expression changed to one of complete boredom. "My plans? I dare not say. It'll be no fun if I tell you. After all, it's how I play." he grinned. "Would you like to play?"

Xhu stood there for a moment, staring at Eltana with a pained expression. So...Eltana is not of himself...he is in cohorts with the Yearner of Woe! The one who killed Baphomet... Xhu winced. Bassette...why have you spoken...now you're in danger as well... Xhu, I am in constant danger as I work for the Order. I have long since given up on the human concept of fear when it comes to empty threats...Do not mind the Yearner, just keep Laties from escaping. Keep Laties from dying! Xhu nodded as he took a deep breath and snapped his fingers. The papers erupted from their stack in his hand and fluttered around him in the same circular motion as earlier. Xhu spread his arms open, glaring at Eltana.
"I am not Baphomet's keeper and if he was as so weak to be killed by the likes of any of your pets then he must have had a weakened soul. My soul is not weak." Xhu then brought his hands together with a loud clap, his white paper surrounding Laties. He brought two fingers to his lips, pressing them together tightly. A sharp whistle rang out and the papers attached themselves to Laties. A bright red binding spell appeared on the paper. Xhu was attempting to keep Laties from moving and joining battle.
Xhu then turned his eyes to Eltana. "I do not fear you nor do I fear death." Xhu called to Eltana. Xhu then closed his eyes, bringing his hands together. For a moment, he whispered an unheard prayer, then he snapped his eyes open. With his fingers, he made five symbols in a swift manner. He closed a fist, opened it, and smiled as he saw the blue flame ignite in his ashen hand. He glanced up at Eltana and tossed his hand forward. The flame morphed and formed into a blue dragon that screeched like a bird of death as it raced towards Eltana, its jaws open and ready to swallow Eltana.

"You've opted for violence rather quickly, I must say. Belligerent twit," she chided him with mild aggravation in her voice, raising Eltana's hand so that the palm was showing to the oncoming dragon. A defensive shell composed of violet-colored energy formed around the possessed lord, which would by no means protect him from being swallowed whole by the conjured creature...
No, it had a different purpose - one that became very evident as something massive came crashing through the ceiling, its appendages crashing into the several circular balconies and reducing them to falling rubble. Chunks of marble and obsidian rained down on the chamber, halting the dragon's advances and falling all around the possessed general and his companion. Eltana fell with the debris as well, but his protective shell broke the fall.
Dust and soot filled the air, blocking both vision and lungs. The duo's hearing was just fine, however, because the unearthly gurgling and chilling screeches of whatever landed with them filled their ears. It was a sound very similar to that of the monster they confronted earlier, yet at the same time very, very different. Something about it seemed very doleful, pained - but that didn't take away from the seething malice burning in its shrieks.
The dust began to clear, revealing that the entire chamber had been reduced to a mess of rubble. Eltana was nowhere to be found, having probably made his escape with a spell after the balconies came crashing down. That, or he was buried safely beneath the stones, protected by his barrier.
What was glaringly obvious about the room, however, was the fleshy abomination standing before the two...
An abomination made up of children - pained, living children that were sewn together into a sin against Lumen herself.
Exactly how disgusting the creature was could not be described in words. Simplified, it had a main torso that was supported by several large, arched legs, and many tentacles protruding from the torso that could be best described as 'flowers'; they had fleshy petals at their ends that concealed the veiny, fetid heads of younglings.
The unfortunate innocents' eyes fell on the two below them, full of pain and misery. Judging by how decayed their bodies were, they weren't alive by natural means. No, something was keeping them from the sweet release of death: The Yearner of Woe herself, who had transferred her control from Eltana to the mess of corpses that was stored above the chamber.
"Behold the instrument of your demise, my adorable little puppet," taunted the Yearner of Woe through the monstrosity's 'head', forcing a smile onto the face of a girl whose pain and suffering was simply indescribable.

A small grunt escaped the rogue as the paper slapped itself against his body and keeping him there in place. He looked down at it before growling as he turned jerked his body side to side in attempt to free himself. “Why, you dirty lil’bastard… Trying to keep me from my fun?” he chuckled as he continued to struggle against the bonds, grinning as he felt the paper dig into his skin and making him bleed.
For a moment Laties suddenly stopped moving, his eyes staring at the ground in concentration. The sound of paper slowly being sliced could faintly be heard over the noise going on in the temple. The source of the sound coming from where his blood slid over the paper. Seconds past before one of the bonds suddenly snapped releasing one of Laties’ arms.
In a smooth movement, his hand slapped against his capture arm where he was bleeding. His grin grew as he pulled his hand away and watched as his blood form into a dark colored hilt. Within seconds a blade materialized from his arm and dripped with his blood before taking a solid form with the blade. Laties cackled as he quickly sliced away the paper before focusing on the ancient.

Xhu swallowed hard as his dragon was promptly dealt with and the resulting explosion caused the chamber to crumble under the pressure of the opposing powers. It wasn't until after the dust settled did he see the abmonination in front of him. Xhu stared at the horrid collection of bodies in front of him, staring coldly at it. But no matter what the stone look Xhu gave the creature, his empathic heart could hardly withstand the pain of the children that were composed in this creature. It was as if each of them were reaching forward and grabbing his heart, squeezing with all of their might. Xhu stared at the creature, his eyes staring into the collective monstrous soul of the beast. But the pain his chest was growing to such a stage, he broke his stone cold facade and winced, one hand reaching up to grip his chest in pain. He winced and glanced to turn towards Laties, but with a loud snap of magic, Xhu could see he was in a whole lot of trouble.
Laties was not only free, but his target had shifted to Xhu. The Ancient let out a frustrated breath. Bassette...I hope you're happy with witnessing the punishment Fate has handed to me for going against what was to come... Xhu said as he growled, setting his jaw. He had two serious problems on his hand now. Well, three now that he thought about it. One; he had to get passed this abomination, two; he had to bring Laties with him, and three; he had to keep Laties from dying without letting Laties kill him. Oh Xhu...I am so sorry...Please, I beg of you...do what you can...please... Xhu turned to look back at Laties, then the the collection of children. He shut his eyes for a moment.
"Oh lady Fate...you will have your path followed according to your will...but allow me the power to diverge off the path for this selfish earth..." Xhu muttered. He whipped out his small sword from his hip and held it in front of him. He ran his other hand across it from the back. Who crimson lines appeared on his palm, the red liquid dripping to the floor. Holding the sword out, he reached into a small satchel from his side and took out five seeds. He clenched them in his bleeding palm for a moment, then tossed them to the floor where the seeds, feed by the ancient's blood, suddenly blossomed. Their vines and roots wrapped around themselves as their forms shot into the air. Their arms were composed of branches, their bodies a collection of wood and vine, their faces those of previous ancients.
"Mochints! Hold Laties while I take care of the beast! Be forewarned, he is a foe with power not is own!" The five plant Mochints nodded and all five turned to Laties, turning their own arms into weapons. Xhu then ran at the beast, his sword poised. Oh Lady of Death, take unto your arms the tormented souls of these children. I shall release them to you! Xhu leaped into the air, twisted, and aimed to jam his sword into the back of the beast.

Decayed flesh was sundered by the powerful blow, leaving a mess of torn, bloodied flesh and mashed faces on the creature's massive back. The Yearner of Woe's pernicious marionette let out a pained wail from each of its small mouths. Tiny, deformed arms of suffering young ones latched onto the Ancient's clothes after he plunged his sword into their shared back and pulled him closer, restraining them as best they could in their slimy embrace. Tiny teeth cut through his clothes and into his flesh, nibbling on the exposed skin in hopes of drawing blood.
"Fate....," the Yearner of Woe mused through a head near Xhu so that he could hear her, voice sultry and mature as always. "Don't tell me you still believe in that naive concept. This 'Lady Fate' you're appealing to is nothing more than the brainchild if the irresponsible mortals, a scapegoat that bears the responsibility of bad decisions so no one else has to. No one's fate is set in stone; we are responsible for our own destiny. I thought you had enough sense in your head to know that, Ancient, but apparently I overestimated you."
Pale white branches attached to the monster's back and sides extended themselves as their puppeteer lectured the Shade, their fleshy, veiny petals opening to reveal even more living corpses. The young bodies had been meshed and sewn together that they formed stringy, makeshift tentacles. The tentacles shot out from their flowery prisons and lashed around in their air, seemingly enjoying their newfound freedom. One fixed its many beady black eyes on the possessed Laties and the Mochints and lunged at them, followed by several of its brethren shortly after.
"And it's not only you foolish mortals that have placed your lives in the hands of an imaginary friend - your gods are also at fault," the woman went on to say as the last free tentacle grabbed Xhu, ripped him from the grasp of the undead children, and tossed him across the auditorium. "They believe that it is their destiny to rule over you insignificant bugs as immortal kings and queens. But they aren't invincible - I destroyed one of them this very day! And I can sense your incompetent Prophet's sorrow. She is falling apart, isn't she? She's unsure of her own power, blaming herself for her brother's death, losing her mind, isn't she? I can feel it; I can almost taste her doleful lamentations."
Meanwhile, Eltana, who had been watching in silence this entire time, made his way toward a massive hole in one of the damaged walls and leaped through it to make his escape. His ally could hold them off long enough in her vessel, or, better yet, destroy them entirely. A bloody tentacle whizzed past the large opening after the effeminate lord fled the scene, throwing a piece of a Mochint it damaged across the room.
The Yearner of Woe continued on, and despite her passionate words, her tone remained calm and controlled:"I have toppled the false idols of other lands; your warring siblings and their Prophets will be no different. They have far too much faith in themselves, and that will prove to be their undoing. Their age is about to come to a quick and abrupt halt, and their deaths shall herald in my own reign. I have walked the path to godhood for thousands of years, and it won't be long till all my toil finally pays off."

“You’re sending plants to fight me, Ancient?” Laties chuckles as he watched the plants move towards him with their weapon limbs pointed at him. “That’s downright degrading!” he cackled manically as he held his blood sword to his side as he bent down slightly ready to lunge forward. A small breath was sucked into his lungs before the rogue lunged forward and swung the blade at one of the creatures.
A small frown formed on his face as the Mochint easily blocked the weapon with it’s limb and quickly pushed him away before lunging at him with its own weapon. Recovering from his small surprise, he stumbled a step to the side with a slight growl as the plant managed to slice his thigh. “You’re going to pay for that…” he growled as batted away the creature’s arm and sliced at the creature. Again, his sword did not piece the creature’s body and again he was forced back at the Mochints attacked him at once.
Laties flipped back so there was a fair distance between he and the offenders. A pleased grin formed on his face as held his sword in front of him. The adrenaline was pumping through his body, a spark inside him was lit up for the first time and the first time in so long. Just as the rogue was about to throw himself back into battle, a dry wheeze escaped his lips. His eyes widen slightly as he moved on of his hands to his chest and felt his chest rise and lower quickly as his body tried to regain the breath he had lost. Sweat dripped from his face and his palms were moist. His legs-no. His body was screaming in pain and his mind was growing light headed.
“Damn this body… Laties didn’t take care of it for me.” he snarled as he stumbled several steps back to keep his distance between the creatures.
