L'Arauna heard Kade speaking about her being his wife, and she almost turned to him with a look of shock on her face, but, when he gave her the look to play along, she simply nodded. "That is indeed correct," she said, trying to put an air of authority around her. She shifted Zweihander in her arms and gave Kade a glance that reflected a look of thanks. "Now, how much will it be?" she asked, a resolute look in her eyes.
The older man had already taken out, measured, and wrapped up the flowers in a small square of cloth and tied it with twine. "Eh, that'll be seventy gold, miss..." he said, pushing the small bundle across the counter. L'Arauna's pale hand came out of one sleeve, taking the bundle and replacing it into the other sleeve, from which she then withdrew her pouch of crystals. Opening it with one hand, she looked into it and selected a finely crafted crystal in the shape of a barn owl's face. "This should cover it," she said, dropping the crystal on the bare wood counter.
The younger man stared at the crystal. "Now, ye can't be serious, miss!" he stammered, his surprised gaze turning to L'Arauna.
"Oh, I am quite serious..." she said, her voice having a tinge of cold hatred in it.
The older man heard the tone in her voice, then turned to Kade. "Ye must teach this wench some respect, sir!" he shouted, jabbing a plump finger in L'Arauna's direction. "She--"
Before he could say any more, a loud hissing silenced him. L'Arauna had morphed into a redbelly water snake, and was hissing at him, baring her venomous fangs.

Kade was a bit surprised, but no where near as much as the others seemed to be. he hid his surprise well. "Now you've gone and angered her. What kind of idiots are you?" He gave a condescending tongue-click, before looking over at L'Arauna. What a surprise. He grinned a little bit, in spite of himself. That theory about Zweihander being hers seemed to become less and less probable. Not to say that she was any less beautiful. As soon as the man had referred to her as a wench, Kade seriously considered striking, if not killing him. But L'Arauna had actually saved the fool's life, by surprising Kade before he could react. Fortunate soul, that poor old man was. Kade turned to the younger one. "Not another sound out of you, fool." He was prepared to leave, but he couldn't very well walk outside and leave the two men to deal with a snake. Sighing softly, Kade gently whispered "We should go, dear," to L'Arauna. He wondered what Zweihander's reaction to all of this would be. Maybe he'd be used to it.
OOC: Short, sorry.

L'Arauna almost lunged and bit the poor old man, but, a quiet whimpering from Zweihander made her stop. /Please, mama.../ the little pup whispered in his language, /Don't hurt him! He's a mortal, a half-wit, an idiot!/
Slowly morphing back into her human form, L'Arauna took her son into her arms. "I'm sorry, Zweihander..." she whispered, before turning her back on the men and tucking her pouch of crystals back into her sleeve. "Very well, my love..." she replied to Kade, cradling Zweihander like a baby. Slowly, she walked out of the shop, casting one chilling glare to the two men again.
"Aye, she almost bit me!" the older man whispered to the younger as the woman stepped out of the shop. "She's a witch, I tell ye!"
"Aye, I saw!" the younger replied, giving L'Arauna a fearful glance. "Deadly beauty, she is!"
Hearing that, L'Arauna turned her head, smirking. "That's exactly what I want you to think!" she replied, her voice seductive and venomous at the same time. "Deadly and beautiful!"
((Ugh, sorry, also rather short...))

Kade smiled, walking with L'Arauna. "Well.. I guess I've finally seen it all. When Eve is the snake, then maybe all men take a lesson." Not like she was going to get that, but it made sense to him. "You have your flowers..." It suddenly occurred to him that this meant that she was leaving. Kade felt a sudden, sharp pain inside him. Why did he feel that? No idea, but whatever. He knew it wasn't love. Really, he knew that, not just thought so. He was not falling in love at all. At this point, he could, but probably not. The worst was that he could act like it. He could behave as in love, and speak as in love. But he wouldn't be, not for a long time. But he would miss her company. She was of good humor, as well as wit and charm. And he was finding himself attached to her, her child, and her quest. Kade looked at her with some admiration in his eyes. "When... Do you leave?" he looked very... Concerned. Kade just sighed inwardly. Why did this always happen to him? He just trusted people too much. But maybe, possibly, he could trust L'Arauna.

Naahra looked down into Zweihander's eyes, sighing gently. "I should be leaving momentarily, but...knowing the sickness Illynar had...I'm not sure if he's alive anymore or not..." Glancing around, she stared up at the shimmering night sky, holding her pup closer to her. "Kade..." her voice was barely a whisper as she looked back at the man who helped her. "Would you mind traveling with me back to my home?" she asked, "I'm afraid I'm not sure of which way leads me out of this town, or which way leads me back to the forests..." Her gaze turned to the dark alleyway that led back onto the main street. "And...I've already been attacked by bandits before...Luckily, though, Zweihander and I managed to hold them off long enough for us to escape... I don't want that to happen again..." Slowly, her gaze turned back down to her pup. She began speaking to him in the strange lupine tongue, the little pup replying in his young, almost squeaky-sounding voice.
"Zweihander says that he would love for you to come with us..." L'Arauna finally said, looking up at Kade again. "It's completely up to you if you wish to come or not, but--" she cut herself off there, not wishing to say anything that may embarass herself.

Kade began to fully appreciate the awkwardness of the situation. She wanted him to come, but only as a friend or a traveler wanted company. That was his interpretation at least. Smiling softly, though more out of resolve than joy, Kade said "I will follow you." He walked into his shop, and began to pack things. He traveled light most of the time, and he could pack his belongings quickly enough. He'd already hoped that she would ask him to come, and now he could. He was rather anxious of leaving his things here. There were no guards around here, and most of it could've been stolen. Ah, so long as he had the equipment, he could make more. He hid the jewelry he had made in a floor space, cleverly concealed by a board that was there. He was already ready to go. A reverse, this time. He'd like to think of this as aiding a woman in distress, but right now it was more aiding a beautiful woman in distress. That is to say that he noticed her, finally, and was probably going to do his best not to go down that path - In vain. Kade smiled, his eyes filled suddenly with duty. He had to get L'Arauna and Zweihander to her brother in time for him to live. He looked at L'Arauna, a rather interested look in his eyes that he quickly tried to blink away. She was beautiful, ever so much.

L'Arauna walked down the alleyway, tentatively peeking out onto the main road. Luckily, there weren't many people walking along at this time of night. She turned the corner, and, in a flash of golden light and a shower of sparks, a barn owl flew back and landed lightly on Zweihander's back. The little pup turned his head and gently licked the owl's wing feathers. The owl version of L'Arauna fixed her small black eyes on Kade and, giving a quiet hoot, spread her wings and lifted off Zweihander's back, flying high up into the air, wheeling around twice, then flying straight to the south, Zweihander following directly under her. From where she flew, L'Arauna could see the forest from which she traveled through to reach this town, but from there, she was clueless on which way to go to return to her home... /Well, instinct got me here, so it should bring me back!/ she thought.
((Ugh, short-ness... Sorry...))
