A frown formed on his pale face as Laties addressed him. Oh, how he loathed the sound of that arrogant little bastard's voice! But he wouldn't let it upset him, no, for he already had what he needed to unleash hell upon the brainless oaf. "You haven't disturbed me. I was merely looking for his highness to report something before I departed for home, but it seems he already retired to his chambers," replied Nikanoru in a calm and controlled voice, repressing the urge to verbally lash out at him.
"But I must--" Nikanoru silenced himself as the princess managed to muster some courage, ordering him to not take Laties to the Blood Chamber no matter how inclined he was to do so. The cowardly pup managed to grow a backbone--what a surprise! The advisor rested those piercing dark orbs of his directly on the princess' face, an eyebrow quirked in confusion and surprise. After a few moments of staring he moved his gaze over to the general and resumed speaking: "Whatever gave you the idea I would take one of our greatest generals to the Blood Chamber, your highness? Why, I only took him there once to help me with feeding the prisoners and completing some paperwork. Besides, I don't want a cold-blooded murderer hanging around my work area." The last sentence he spoke rather loudly, an amused grin quickly overtaking the frown.
"However," he started again, turning to the princess; "I'm afraid I must alert his Majesty of this little incident. Not only are you not allowed to be wandering the palace at this hour, but you were also engaged in a.... romantic activity with General Luhma. That simply won't do."

"I...I was not!" Naahra said, gasping loudly. "He was just teaching me a dance! I don't call that romantic at all!" She wanted to say something else in hers and Laties' defense, but she was lost for words. She wanted to threaten him, but that would be futile, considering that once Nikanoru made a decision, he wasn't going to change his mind. "Fine, tell my father, but remember, he wouldn't believe you if I said otherwise..." With that, a small smile played on her lips. "So, maybe you should think otherwise of informing my father..." Her glance once again flickered to Laties, and she silently hoped that the general would at least try to back her up in this. If he didn't, Nikanoru would tell her father, and that would never be good...

The adivsor couldn't contain his laughter, thoroughly amused at the princess' claim. While he wasn't in hysterics, it was obvious that the girl's boisterous claim really got to him--but not in the way she had hoped for. Nikanoru finally calmed down and took a few breaths, than focused his attention on Naahra, an amused smile staining his frightening visage."Your highness, you're making your father out to be an imbecile. Please do not insult his intelligence in such a way; he is a great man, and certainly not a puppet for his daughter to play with. His Majesty is a king first, and a father second."
"Because I am his primary advisor and not some overbearing noble or witless brute," continued the Shade, glancing over at Laties before returning his hues to the princess; "His Excellency will certainly trust my words and look into whatever I report to him. Whether or not what you two were doing was "romantic", while I might believe so, is up to your father and your father alone. Do I make myself clear, princess?"

Naahra's face turned a bright red at this, both with embarassment and with anger. She wanted to say something more, but, if she did, some words she overheard from the knights may slip out. That was the last thing she wanted this...freak...to tell her father, that she cursed him out. She quickly shook her head and stormed past Nikanoru. She wanted so much to bump him with her shoulder or tip his hat off of his head, but... That wouldn't be good, considering that...monster...would probably say that she slapped him across the face or something. "That is it..." she muttered miserably, "I am going to bed..." Bitter tears were already forming in the princess's eyes, and, as she flung open the door, the last thing you could see of her before it slammed shut was a ruffle of her pale pink skirts, a wisp of her shining silver hair, and a piercing glare at Nikanoru.
((Naahra has taken her leave!))

Nikanoru smirked wickedly as the princess ran out in a mess of tears and hysterics, taking a very sadistic pleasure in seeing her face redden and the tears rolling down her cheeks. She certainly got upset easily! He only corrected her and advised her to be more thoughtful when speaking of the King--what was the problem with that? It was hard to imagine that the overreacting little wench would be leading Alyssus one day as Osirus' heir; hopefully he would have a competent son before then.
He began heading toward the doors a moment after Naahra departed. Because his Majesty had retired to his chambers, the advisor had no reason to be at the castle any longer. Besides, he certainly didn't want to deal with that ignoramus Laties. Nikanoru could imagine it--the arrogant twit would lash out at him for being so disrespectful to the princess. Well, he wasn't going to give him the chance. The advisor had more important things to worry his advanced mind about, anyway.
Exiting the throne room and closing the door behind him, he noticed that the princess was already gone--something he was thankful for; he didn't have the patience to deal with some hysterical teenager. Nikanoru closed his eyes in thought, mulling over the consequences of his actions. What would if the girl were to tell her father that he was being nasty to her? Probably nothing; King Osirus knew all too well about his disposition. And he did address her respectfully. He would inform Osirus of his daughter and Laties' transgression first. A lecherous general courting his little girl... oh, he could already see his lord's reaction!
His little reflection being over with, Nikanoru strolled down the hallway and eventually departed for his home.
(And the bastard's gone!)
